Only one now

Unfortunately we lost one over night. Foxes got the smaller one. Very upset household today. We will have to look into getting an alpaca I think.
But another boy. And he is a cutie

Friday funnies

Friday again.  I can't believe it. Yesterday afternoon my coloured ewe gave birth to twins
Both baby's are jet black. I'm hoping to be able to get a pic today sometime
Enjoy a laugh and hang in there it's almost the weekend

We got married and started this roller coaster ride we call our life.
We have had some huge bumps along the way but mostly it's been a wild ride.
Looking forward to the next chapter of our lives
Thank you for being there for me
Love you

Simple Monday

The weather has turned cold, wet and windy. So it's definitely a day to say indoors. The slow cooker is on with chicken and vegetables and will soon start to smell yummy. Fire is going with the wood we cut over the weekend and all the washing is drying on clothes horses.
I'll put on a DVD and knit the day away I think
Simple living on days like today is just the best.
How's the weather in your part of the world? What are you doing today?

Fruit trees

Over the weekend we planted these four fruit trees.
We are slowly replacing the ones we lost when I was as my sickest
Hubby is now on board and will help me whenever I cannot look after them. Makes it much easier than doing it all yourself.
After planting the four we purchased these three. We can't wait to taste  the nectarine cross plumb. We will plant them over the next weekend.
Do you have fruit trees? How are they going?
It's a slow process but we will get back to where we were a few years ago.

Frosty Monday morning

So very cold this morning. Too cold to get out of bed. But I did and I went swimming as usual. But first I had to defrost my car

While waiting I took these. The paddock was white
The baby hiding from it mummy
Yup that's  the temp. I know some of you get way colder  in your part of the world. But this is really cold for us.
So now I'm home have chocked roasting in the oven so the workers can have a hot lunch and I'm about to light the other fire as the little one needs cleaning.

What we have been up to

Friday the tiler laid all the tiles. He comes back tomorrow to grout them
We planted some spring onions. First of consecutive plantings
Cabbages doing really well.
Cauliflower coming along nicely
Broccoli starting to come along
We have had a few frosts so our kale will be nice and sweet
Some baby peas. Hubby was eating them straight from the plant lol
A few more pots added to the pergola area. Only a few more I think and it will be done
Also went out Saturday night with the girls to a fundraiser for an orphanage in Thailand. It so sad how there children live. Yet amazing how people care enough to get in and do something about their lives. How just a little for us can make a huge difference in their lives.
So counting my blessings today and thanking the universe for those blessings
Have a wonderful week

Laundry Reno

New laundry trough and wall tiles
Fresh paint
And the last time I'll have to look at these. The tiler is coming hopefully tomorrow. I'll have to use my little washing machine for a few days yet. But boy will it be worth it.
Off to a funeral this morning. An elderly neighbour has passed. A dear lady who helped us when we were just young newleyweds
I know it's the circle of life. But it's still hard to understand.
Sending love out to the world

Then and now

Two angles of the new pergola area. This from my sewing room window
You can see the dogs had excavated a huge hole and the trees and overgrown and the path was unusable. It was terrible trying to get to the tap and it just looked messy and dirty and when it rained there was so much mud
Here it is from the other side. We had cut the trees by this one, but you can really see the hole!
The veranda was falling apart and it all looked old and really in need of TLC
what a difference it has made. All this space and since its been raining buckets the last three days it's still clean and is a joy to look at
I'm so very happy with how it turned out
It was well overdue
Now. Looking forward to the next stage.
Just you wait and see!

Surprise!

Look what was in the paddock when I got home yesterday from art class.
A new baby. With the trees budding and the bulbs coming up and a new lamb it seems spring isn't far away.
Now if someone could tell the cold weather that it would be great!

Art day!

My last art class today. It's been challenging and its pushed me outside my comfort zone. I don't consider myself to be artsy or creative in that way, this teacher has been so supportive and nurturing. That I've forgotten to be afraid.
Who knows I may even show you some of my work on here
You might even get a good laugh and think I can do better than that!
So off I go.
Have a great day

Rainy day

The weather today is not delightful. It's raining so any chance if splitting more firewood is gone. I'm not silly enough to do it in the rain.
Yesterday hubby drove me almost an hour to find  the shop I found on the Internet. It was the only one with a setting I liked.
I didn't want a modern looking one that every hardware and furniture shop had. I wanted to be different
So here it is a little bit of the Mediterranean in my back yard. Slightly more than I wanted to spend but it will be kept for a very long time
Can't you just see me sitting here with a glass of wine enjoying the fruits of my labours. Admiring my gardens. Yup me too
Stay warm and dry all those living in the arctic blast zone. And everyone enjoy the rest of the weekend
