Garden update

Wow look what happens when you go away and don't check on your veggies
Two beautiful cabbages  heaps of radishes
Broccoli and kale. The cauliflower didn't form a head. Don't know why. It's never done that before. I should of taken a pic before I feed them to the chickens.  But can't complain. We will have yummy broccoli with my creamy chicken cooking in the slow cooker right now
Feeling very blessed

Melbourne home!

I thought I'd do a post like a touris visiting a new city. This is Melbourne. My home. Although I live 45 minutes out South of the city, I love this city where I grew up
It has interesting art over its highways and every city has a huge wheel these days
The bolte bridge so we can get from one side of the river to the other
Here is the Yarra river that flows through our city. Lots of people taking advantage of the sun and having a relaxing Sunday
The tunnel that goes under the river so re can go over the the South east suburbs
Sorry about the dirty window. We were camping lol but here we are in the tunnel
So here is a little bit of my home city. I hope you enjoyed your virtual tour maybe one day if you haven't been you will come and visit us we would love to have you

Camping

Here we are all set up. Sue is sitting outside her van and ours it on the right. We dug a hole and had a nice fire going in th evening.
Sue and Keith have been doing a trek of the eastern part of Australia and have travelled right up the the most northern point of pur continent. The are now on their way home and we decided to meet them here and spend the weekend

We are in the police paddocks near Rutherglen on th mighty Murray. It's not full. It it is moving quickly.
Town in only a short drive so even though we are "roughing" it. No power or amenities, we won't run out of anything we need
It was cold last night and it rained on and off all night. But we were snug as bugs in our van
So much better than sleeping on th ground in tents!
So today we might go into town and visit some of the local wineries. Their area is famous for them.
Or we might just sit around here and relax. Everyone is still in bed as its a bit too cold to get up and get moving just yet.
But hey we are on holidays lol
I do really need a coffee though.

So much commotion

This is what's been going on for months now. They have been moving dirt bringing in rock and generally being royal pains in our arses. But it's all been for a good cause.
Our road is finally going to be bitumen and I can't wait.
They have sealed the top of the road and are slowly working their way down. So now it's our turn. Machinery and men started early and hopefully will get heaps done.
Those that live on made roads just don't understand just how exciting this is
Will post more as it happens.
Stay tuned lol

Bobby

Meet bobby. He belongs to our neighbours across the road. He has come here to live. He was all alone in his little paddock. So it will be good for him to be with our sheep and good for our sheep to have a protector. I hope bob is happ here

Signs of spring

Even though it's been bitterly cold here. Our coldest July in 20 years in fact. Signs  of sprung coming are everywhere
Flowers blooming, new growth, and fruit blossoms
I hope it's true. I don't mind the cold normally but these old bones need to thaw and I'm itching to get my hands back into the dirt in a huge way
What's happening at your place?

Rain

Lots and lots of rain is coming
Overnight the wind picked up again and it started to rain down
Not good for pain levels. This body sure was hurting.
I was like a cat on the move. From the bed to the couch and then back to the bed. I did sleep a little but mostly I was awake.
So today I'm inside will keep the fires burning. With a top Temp of only 11 degrees predicted not a day to be outside unless you have too
How's the weather at your place. I hope it's nicer than here
