Yesterday when I was cutting up all the peppers I didn’t realise that some of them were hot.
Usually I process my own, or buy sweet peppers when they’re on special.
But as these were given to us I didn’t even think about it.
So my hands were feeling like they’re burnt.
Find I thought. I’ll just keep washing them and they will go back to normal
No they didn’t
All night my hands were burning.
I dint sleep until five in the morning
This morning they’re still like that.
So if your working with produce that you haven’t grown, wear gloves
Pretty sure I’ll remember that for next time
I had an experience where I touched my eye, whoa, that was not good. Now it's gloves for peppers, just in case.
ReplyDeleteThat's terrible -- hope your hands feel better soon.
ReplyDeleteOh Angela. That must be so uncomfortable. K has put red hot peppers in a stew thinking they were sweet. Like Boud, I've forgotten what I was dealing with and accidently touched an eye or a lip. But your hands are serious. I hope they calm down quickly
ReplyDeleteI scratched my nose after prepping hot peppers and my nose was red and swollen for days afterwards, so I always try to remember to wear gloves when cutting them up.
ReplyDeleteoh dear...lesson learned! If nothing else, circulation boosted..with a vengeance.
