Wildlife

The customer is coming to pick up the cherry picker. While moving it to get it ready somebody decided to go for a ride
We tried to get it off but he liked the wheel. We even tried moving slowly but it was fun for it. A giant wheel to run around lol
So dale had to get a big long pole and poke him a little.
So finally we got him/her to move and climb up a tree.
This is what happens when you live with nature. They are always trying to bum a ride lol

Cooking day

I had some vegetables that really needed to be used up in the refrigerator. So I bought a hag of chicken legs, as they are our favourites and in the slow cooker are mixed veggies, chicken, Moroccan spices and one can crushed tomatoes.
The second half of the chicken legs in the packet were put in the oven with vegetables and the rest of the Moroccan spices. This will be dinner tonight, the slow cooker will be tomorrow and some will be frozen for later use.
And in the smaller dish. I grated one sad carrot. The last zuccini and some cheese that really needed to be used up, about a dozen eggs salt pepper and a couple of tablespoons of self raising flour.
This will be for lunch and when I want a snack.
So about half an hour of prep work and one day cooking, using up all my vegetables I have many many healthy meals. The 2kilo bag of legs was $6.49.  And this will feed us for at least four meals. Not bad hey!
So fugal healthy meals are happening here, who wants to come for dinner?

Getting motivated

Yes folks I'm getting motivated to lose the extra kilos I gained Pryor too and during the Christmas period
Yes I was not well, and I had crashed. But that's no excuse. Not now anyway
Hubby bought me a Fitbit for Christmas and I've slowly been building up the number of steps I'm taking each week
Today I walked the block. Haven't done that in a few years I can tell you. It was 3.23 kilometres and it took me just over thirty minutes. And one street has a steep hill!
We have been swimming but with the Christmas new year period we had missed many mornings so hopefully we will get back into the swing of that as well
I've been watching what I eat for a while now and I do feel my clothes getting lose again.
Won't bother with the scales as I'm in this for the health not the skinny. Too old to worry about that.
Just want to lose the excess weight, manly around my middle and hopefully get back on track to being happy and healthy.
Got the happy down, working on th health.
How did You all go during the Christmas eating festival? Not too bad I hope.
See ya xx

An eventful day

Today is my 49th birthday. Didn't really want to make a fuss. Hubby has organised a four day mini holiday in a few weeks and he is flying my to Tasmania.
That was exciting enough.
Then I decided to make some lunch so I turned on our tap. And I got a dribble of water.
Hubby went out to check and yup the water people were up the road fixing a burst water pipe.
Great. Water was back on about twenty minutes later and then everything got very hectic
Our fire app warned us that there was a fire in the next street, the same place there was a fire last week, and only a little way past where the pipe had to be fixed
Today the weather was very windy and the grass fire soon took off
It took 23 fire trucks and helicopter water bombs to put it out. But not before it threatened houses and neighbours were evacuating people's racing dogs and horses
We even got an offical get ready to evacuate the home warning.
Scary stuff. But our wonderful fire fighters got it all under control and peace has been restored to our little piece of paradise.
So now I'm relaxing and watching Indiana jones and feeling very lucky and blessed.
Won't forget this birthday for a while

Last day 2015

Today I plan to keep busy even though it's a hot one outside
I've got two chicken roll roasts in the slow cooker so there will be plenty of cold meat to eat over the next few days as hubby will be home.
I'm going to turn these into marmalade.
I bought these for the grandkids. Two of each so a set put away for each of my kids. I love Paddington don't you?
And while resting this afternoon I'll keep working on these. It's a no pressure, can take years I don't care project.
I miss those projects. Always having a deadline sometimes makes crafting into just another job. So I want to enjoy it again
And then tonight we will stay home and if I want to wait for midnight I will. And if I don't I'll go to bed early.
What every you do stay safe, have a wonderful time and a happy new year to all
See ya next year! xxx

Abundance

We were gifted a bag of red onions a lot of them. So what do I do with them. We cannot eat them all before they are no good so I decided to use them and make a base that will be used during the winter
I also had a couple of capsicums and some zuccini and a heap of tomatoes so I cut them all up and I've cooked them down.
This will be put into containers and frozen. It's great for using in the slow cooker. Or adding to mince meat for a fabulous spaghettini sauce
Every year it's different depending on what I have planted and what has produced heaps.
A little way of preserving the summer to enjoy during the winter. You can alway taste the sunshine.
One of the easiest ways to stop wastage
How do you deal with an abundance?
