It’s only just begun

This project is going to challenge me in a big way 

I purchased this book online. Y’all know I’m a Potter Head from way back. 

This is the jumper I’m attempting to knit 

Can you see the panel of cables. 

They’re not vertical but horizontal 

Once I’ve knitted the cable to go around me I then have to pick up stitches. The rest of the yoke, above the panel, is the next thing 





I’m getting the hang of it. The second pattern repeat knitted up much quicker 



If I can work out how to knit the jumper, it will be a very long  scarf. lol 

It’s going to be a long term project. Which is fine as I won’t have to find another one to do any time soon 

Any advice is greatly appreciated

Today I’ve attempted to put the other storage shelves together. 

I was doing really well until I came to the single vertical sticks. I just didn’t have the strength to screw them on 

I’m almost positive that’s where they go. I’m now just leaving it for when hubby gets home 

I then took out my cable knit. I found videos on what the special stitches were and how to do them 

The lady didn’t use any extra needles she just shuffled all the stitches around. 

I tried that and it looked like a hot mess 

I pull it all out and used the blue stitch holder to keep the spare stitches on until I need to knit them 



The main reason I think I just couldn’t get it to look correctly was the whole hold them back and hold them forward you have to do. 

I don’t think I was doing it correctly. Now I’m using the stitch holder as a cable needle it’s starting to look like a pattern 

Using the stitch holder is making it all much simpler 

Who knows I might even get a jumper made in the end 

I’ll keep plugging away and we will see

Weekend ends

Sunday was HOT even though I was in the shade and wore a hat I got burnt. 

It was so hot that it was decided to go and have a swim in the dam 

Apparently it was very refreshing 



Boston had a ball 



We were sitting and relaxing. The girls did go in eventually 



Only Trixie and I stayed dry. I didn’t have a bathing suit and Trixie was a lady 

Vicky discovered that she had not packed any socks 

It did get chilly at night. So I made these. She loved them and said they were very warm 




This morning we woke to rain. It was lovely. 

We quickly packed up and headed home 



We have all texted that we arrived home safe and sound 

A wonderful long weekend sadly has finished. 

Tomorrow it’s back to the grindstone

Bargain

Yesterday we found a great bargain. Well my friend Diane did.   She got to the shopping centre before I did and decided to check out Kmart while waiting for me. She found these 

I don’t know what the original price was on the metal table but the box storage was $50 

The material boxes alone are $4 each 

So a great bargain. I bought two of the box storage and one of the metal table 



Today with a little help from Ana, she got bored quickly. I put the table together

And here she is practicing on throwing the rings  a new toy I bought for the girls to play with 

Can’t have a Friday post without her 

Ana and daddy have gone home and we are in the caravan going to the farm for the Labour Day weekend

Finished project

I don’t know why. But that last arm took forever? 

But I’ve now finished and it’s ready for Brianna. 

The button is a sparkly ladybug. 

I think she will like that. 

Having finished I now need another project 

Maybe I’ll start the stitcheries I had prepared for the retreat 

But never got around to 

For now I’m busy trying to organise everything 

So we can go camping at the farm. It’s the labour 

Day weekend 

We will leave just after lunchtime tomorrow and come home on the Monday 

We have a a few friends coming   as well. So it should be fun

I just hope the gods of weather are kind to us 

Clearing and cleaning

Today is predicted to be hot. I needed to start clearing away all the summer plants, weed and top up with compost 

As you can see. Even though I had started , note  the pile on the lawn. It was still a nightmare 

 I had to be careful not to pull up the asparagus while clearing the self seeded tomatoes 

They had overgrown into the basil and over the rhubarb and strawberries 




It was hard work so I enlisted the help of hubby who cleared away the piles of greenery. Some to the chickens, and some to the stock. 

Of course while clearing we found over sized zucchini’s and other squash. They also have been cut up and feed to them 

I’m now indoors with a cool glass of water resting. 

I’m very glad we have leftovers for dinner.
