Catching up

I’ve spent the last week  catching up with everybody and everything I had neglected while I had my mum here

Art class Saturday
Coffee catch up and nails done Monday
Aldi shopping, mainly to buy up baby clothes
That were on special Tuesday
Yesterday a lunch catchup with two other friends at one of their homes
Today I stayed home.

Catching up on more chores
Cooking treats for the boys and in between all that, continuing to work on my Christmas presents.

Once they’re finished I can go back to my jumper and finish off the sleeves.

I do enjoy meeting with friends. They provide lots of laughs and therapy

Anniversary

Today 37 years ago we got married
Honestly some days I ask myself this question
But mostly I’m happy we wake up next to each other.

I think we can all relate to s

Winter days

Slow cooker going

Some yummies in the oven

And washing. Finishing the drying process inside

And of course the fire.

I’m not sure if this winter has been colder than usual or that I’m feeling it more

Either way. It’s lovely staying inside and enjoying the simple life

Sunday rest day

The last few days have flown by in a rush
Ana arrived Friday morning and after breakfast asked if she could do some cut and past

She knows where things are stored now. So instead of her following me, she led the way.

While getting out her craft supplies she spotted the beads for jewellery making.

She asked if we could do that after her cut and pasting

Grandma helped thread the beads, while she chose them. She was very particular in the order they were in

Very pleased with her new bling.

She also went to the kitchen on her own. Got her plastic bowl out. Chose her snake and put them in her bowl. She then came back into the living room to watch Gabbys dollhouse.

Honestly I think I’m obsolete!

In between all the chores, and playing I continued with my embroidery

This is the third one. I need four. I’m making them into  something to hang in. Kitchen.

They’ll be Christmas presents for friends who appreciate hand made gifts

I only traced three so once I finished this one I’ll have to trace another one.

After all that and going back to art yesterday morning I’m a tad tired.
Today is a PJ day
Except for the every day chores I’m going to sit on the couch, listening to my audiobook while continuing with the embroidery

Later we will watch the football and hopefully my team will win. They have lost the last two games.

Enjoy your weekend everyone.
Remember. Staying in pjs and not doing much of anything except fun stuff, is as good as a holiday

I’m back

We dropped my mother off back home this morning
My sister is back, so, if there is a problem she can get there in five minutes

It’s been hard having someone here all the time, when your used to being alone more often than not

I realised I treasure my alone time.

As it’s rude to not speak to someone when they’re with you, I choose to work on stitcheries.
You don’t follow a pattern or count so perfect to do while still having conversations

The hardest part was trying to choose the colours

I’ve finished all the pieces in the pattern. I’ve even made extras. I’ve sewn the boarders to stop them fraying. I’m going to have to concentrate while making this quilt top.
Lots of mathematics and playing around to get them into some sort of top.

I’ve also worked this one in blue just like the pic on the pattern.

I’ve traced two more.
I’ll use different colours on these.

I think I’m going to turn them into a hangings to gift at Christmas

It really is brainless work that is soothing.
No thinking
No counting
No swearing because you have dropped a stitch
lol

I’ll get round and catch up with what’s happening in your lives. I did occasionally pop in to keep an eye on you all

Mistakes.

Are not always a bad thing

I’ve finished the blanket for the new grandbaby.
One square is upside down

Didn’t notice until I had almost finished
I’ve just decided it can be my Amish bit.

I’ve started the embroidery I traced out in February
I know.

I was stitching away and realised I had traced the picture on the wrong side

Instead of undoing it all and starting again. I cut out all I could. Luckily I hadn’t started on the flowers.

I thought you know. With the white it looks like a real spider’s web

And so it stays

Who said mistakes are bad?

Freshen up

I’m looking forward to the coming spring.
Not that you could tell today.

It’s a dark, cold windy day. The wind is coming straight form the Antarctic and it felt  like it.

But I’m manifesting better weather.
The hanging baskets needed their annual refresh.

Hubby got them down for me and I started to carefully empty the pots. Weeded them and repotted with fresh potting mix

They definitely look better. The weeds were starting to out shine that actual plants

Any breakages were potted up in what ever pot I had that was empty. Hopefully they will take and I’ll get some free new plants

I was going to start tending the pots under the veranda, but it just got too windy

So I came  inside and enjoyed nice cup of tea in my favourite mug

I’ll try to finish the rest of the  pots tomorrow.
