You will need cardboard to line the base of the box. This will protect the timber from the stone 

Stone to add to drainage and adds bulk. 

On top of this add a layer of newspaper to stop your organic compost filtering through your rock

And then add organic compost. 

Put it all together and you will have a vegetable garden you can be proud of
