Blue

It’s the time of year
It’s lack of sunshine
It’s lack of energy
It’s too much pain
Too much to do but not being able too

It’s oh so many things.
Mainly it’s just knowing that my best and healthiest years are behind me
And I have to accept this is who I am now

And I will just not today

Imbolc

A blessed Imbolc to all in the Southern Hemisphere

I slept in this morning, I really needed it.
Woke up at eight and saw the world was white

And very very cold
The only good thing is once this fog goes, and it’s nine thirty now still pea soup,
The sun will shine

I do need to get out today to organise a few things
But right now I’m sitting inside staying warm

To everyone in the northern hemisphere blessed lamas
I hope your harvest is plentiful

Anniversary

I can’t believe it’s been this long
I know it’s cliché but the years really fly.
It’s been a roller coaster, as all marriages are, but we are still here.
Nothing planned. It’s just another day.
But we do realised that we are very blessed and we take nothing for granted.
Looking forward to the coming years

Mushrooms

Mosaic crochet is coming along slowly
The fibro fog is particularly bad right now.  There is lots of counting and I’m so bad I forget the number as soon as I say it.

Today the sun is shining and that bitter cold is gone.
There is always something to be thankful for.

Walk about

The rain and winds have stopped. So we went for a bit of a wander around the place

You can see how much rain we had

This dam was bone dry!
It filled up over the last week

Checking the veggie patch and not much is happening
The rhubarb is kicking on.  Which is lovely to see

The first planting is now established and growing well.

The second is still just sitting quietly.

The sugar beets have grown. I’ll start harvesting and adding them to my stews and roast them

More beets in the foreground. The jonquils are happily flowering away.

No sign of the potatoes as yet. I’m sure they’ll pop up soon

The frost has Damaged this poor plant. I’ll wait until all frost has gone and cut it back. It should regrow.

My rosemary is really doing well. I had to cut it back so I could get in and out of the gate

The bees were all over it.

It was nice to just walk around.  I ignored all the weeds. I’ll get to them once the weather improves

The chickens have been let out of lockdown to clean up the small orchard.

They will spend the day here and go back in their run
It’s wet so we will get some more sawdust and put it down for them to have a nice clean and dry area to play in.

This will have to done during the week. The sawdust people are closed Sundays

Hope you’re all keeping warm or cool depending on where in the wacky world you live.

Crazy weather all over

There’s a mouse in the house

All day yesterday Trixie had her nose under the couch.  She would be on one side
Then run around to the other side
I couldn’t see anything because the section she was looking at is low to the ground.
I needed to lift up the whole couch to see properly. But it’s too big

I actually got hubby and wonderson pull the couch apart and look.
There wasn’t any tight there. But I know my dog. She wouldn’t be that fixated for nothing.

This morning. While sitting quietly I see a mouse run across from the heater to the back of the wall unit.
Trixie is now right there waiting.

So tonight mouse traps will be set and hopefully we catch a little critter

Not that I blame it.  It’s very cold and wet out there.
But if your not paying rent, or giving me love.
You got to leave

I’m off to art class. But first I have to add a few more layers to keep me warm.

EDIT
Bella has caught the mouse and has gone outside with it

Good kitty

Potty training

Only Ana today. Older girls are back at school
Her parents have started potty training and we continued today

For ease we had only undies on and no pants
We only had one accident. She was very good

In the nail
Salon today. It’s a tough job deciding what colour

Outside it was very cold. We had strong winds and now rain.

We not only had the wood fire going. We also had the ducted heating

It’s going to be miserable for the next week or so.

I’m definitely feeling it in my bones.
There is a global computer cliche, apparently
So far it hasn’t affected me. Hopefully they sort it out soon
