Mistakes.

Are not always a bad thing

I’ve finished the blanket for the new grandbaby.
One square is upside down

Didn’t notice until I had almost finished
I’ve just decided it can be my Amish bit.

I’ve started the embroidery I traced out in February
I know.

I was stitching away and realised I had traced the picture on the wrong side

Instead of undoing it all and starting again. I cut out all I could. Luckily I hadn’t started on the flowers.

I thought you know. With the white it looks like a real spider’s web

And so it stays

Who said mistakes are bad?

  1. Your Amish bit lol. I bet no one but you will ever notice. The blanket looks lovely. It is a treasure
    And the embroidery!
My works always have mistakes. If they didn't they wouldn't be mine

  2. I love the spider's web. It looks great. Definitely intentional ;) I can't tell which square is upside down, so it can't be that noticable. My crafting often turns out not quite as intended, but is often better for it.

  3. Only Allah is perfect. Persian rugs have to have deliberate mistakes but that makes me wonder if deliberately making the mistake is somehow messing with the talent or skill Allah blessed them with.

  5. Aren't mistakes like that also called "happy accidents"?

  6. I don't need to be intentional to make mistakes! But so often you're the only person who notices.
