Getting ready

Today we weeded and pulled out the plants that had finished producing so as to make room for autumn plantings

Our steer loves it as he gets all the weeds, plants and any oversized courgettes

I’ll give it a week or so and start planting.
This is the fun part. The planing and buying stage.

What’s happening  your garden?

Stay safe and well
See ya

Life

I’m still here.
We are slowly returning to to “normal” after the lockdown
It did only let the five days do that was good I guess

Back to swimming in the mornings
And seeing my swim friends
We had a big a terrible news. One of the ladies has been diagnosed with cancer and it’s
Inoperable so we are all in a bit of shock

But we are all dealing and have decided to take her out next month for her birthday to just
Enjoy the time we have with her

Knitting group had the one week off and we are back again
I took in the baby beanies, and a blanket I had made and also five small
Quilts for the neo natal ward

And now I’m crocheting. Any clothes as that’s what they have asked for

Two little cardigans
I’m better with the girls clothes so I’ll stick to the ones I know
This pattern is really simple so I’ll make a few more before I get bored and
Change to something else

Other than that
Life is moving along
February is almost over and March is about to begin
The weather has turned cooler so I think our summer is over,
Not that we had a great one this year

Hope your all well
That catches you all up
So for now
Stay safe and well
See ya xx

Snap lockdown

As soon as I posted about how lovely it was to be living a new normal life, it bit me in the bottom
Our premiere called a snap lockdown to start at midnight and last for five days

I promise to never do that again!

So I’ve been home working on the beanies and a blanket for the aboriginal and Torres straight islander communities
Up north
But today is very warm and I don’t want to work with yarn
So I rummaged through my off cuts and made another cushion

P

Four houses on one side and I stitched three long panels for the back and border
I’m happy with how it came out
I love the odds bods look of it

And no matter where I am my shadow is with me
Always making sure I’m safe she is such a joy
And a wonderful companion

Stay safe and well
See ya xx

Melody

And suddenly your five!
Happy birthday to our beauty princess,
The one who stole our hearts and made us grandparents

A kind, gentle and funny little girl
May your life be always as sweet
As you are

Love you always and forever

Friday again

I can’t believe it’s Friday again
Almost half way through February!

The days a flying by. Now life is kinda normal again, except for masks, and the occasional
Outbreak rules being reinstated for short periods of time

I was so excited to have Shirley, who moved to Queensland four years ago, come and stay with me for a couple of days

It’s been so long since I’ve seen her. About three years as in the old pre covid days I did travel up to Queensland and had a visit
And caught up with her then

My daughter brought the girls to see her and although they didn’t remember her, she was shocked to see how big they were getting lol

I even took her to knitting, that has finally been able to commence again, and they were all so very excited and surprised to see her

Our knitting group has been asked to make premmie beanies for the indigenous families up north.
They supplied a pattern and colour scheme for us to follow
Believe it or not. I only have enough of the “right” yellow to make one more beanie so I’m going to have to go out and get me some more

There is a pattern for a Torres straight islander one as well. But I can’t remember the exact shade of the colours. So I’ll have to wait until
I can find out.
So that’s what’s been happening here.
We have had more covid escape from quarantine
So who knows what our future holds
Maybe I should go and get the yarn sooner rather than later?

Stay safe and well
See ya xxx

Mixing it up

As you know I’ve been trying to use up what I have before I allow myself to go and buy more craft
Materials
I’ve had some stitcheries that I finished and one that was half done
So I finished that off and turned it into a wall hanging that I I’ll probably hang in my craft room

One of the ones I finished ages ago I’ve turned into a cushion
I have another two that I will do the same with
They will go in my new van to make it homey

The off cuts from other projects have been turned into some booties for the new baby
I did have to wait until I got the press studs and have now gone home to await the
Arrival of their owner

The days are flying by
It’s now February
Keeping busy, and out of trouble I am

Hope you are too
See ya xx
