Easter long weekend

Today is good Friday. Well it isn’t for Greeks and those of the Eastern Orthodox religion
But that’s another story
anyway. It’s a long weekend here in Australia and being that it’s good Friday it means the
Royal children’s hospital good Friday appeal is on
There is an all day telethon that’s starts very early and continues until very late at night
Some people collect money for this one appeal all year! But today lots of people are out with collection tins and organising
Activities and all sorts of things to rise money for our children’s hospital.
It’s a tradition that began way back in the early 1930’s and is one that is very close to all victorians hearts

This Sunday we fall back on our clocks and daylight savings ends

I know lots of people who don’t like daylight savings. But I do.
It makes waking up early to go swim much easier and it’s nice to have hubby come home while it’s still daylight.
Having said that. I do enjoy the shorter days.
Closing up the house at night, putting lots of wood in the fire and snuggling under a blanket while watching television
Is my idea of bliss.
So everyone in Victoria and NSW will need to remember to adjust their clocks before going to bed
Saturday night

and of course. As we start to go within for the darker, colder months it’s time to
Do the bi-annually washing of the windows.
Which is so much more than Windows. We have had shocking dry hot winds bringing lots of dust and dirt
So I’ve had to wait until those were all over.
Everything was just covered. And the spiders must of decided it was cooler near my windows because there were massive colonies
Since hubby is home he helped me move everything and while he took care of the cobwebs, I preceded to wash down the windows, walls, and everything else!
Looks much better now

So there you are. A busy day today for lots of people.
and it’s only the first day of the four day weekend!
We have lots planned over the next few days. So stay tuned!
Have a lovely day and enjoy your time off

The little things

I’m still here.
Still swimming everyday, mostly.
I did sleep in one morning the other week. So I must of needed it
Easter is coming. So getting organised for that. Aussie Easter this weekend and Greek Easter the next
Weight loss is now 15 kilos down and only one to go to reach my target.
Have been buying new clothes. Oh my goodness. But I needed all new stuff
This time I’m not hanging onto my fat clothes. So now even if I gain a few kilos I’ll know straight away.
These will no longer fit!
It is fun to go shopping again. I used to love shopping for new clothes.
But having children, budgets and then weight and health issues kinda took the fun outta of it
I’m remembering who I was before I was a wife and mother.
That’s got to be a good thing.
Anyway
Busy few weeks coming up. And then we will be awaiting the arrival of the new granddaughter
My baby girl has only six weeks, approximately, to go!
Life is good right now!
Hope yours is too

Mabon 2018

Recently getting up to go swimming has been getting harder
It’s dark now and although it hasn’t been cold.  A slight chill has begun to creep in
From now on the days will be shorter and shorter until the winter solstice
Time to start to go within
My favourite time of year!
Blessed be )0(

I’m still here

Hello everyone
Yes I’m still here
I’ve been busy swimming five days a week for an hour and a half each morning
I get up around five and I’m usually in the water between 6.15 and 6.30!

As well as my usual granddaughter sitting
Normal household duties, returning to knitting group, having coffee and shopping with the swimming girls!

Yes I have been a busy little bee.
I’ve also lost 14 kilos in three months, which makes all this business a little easier, I do have to remember to not push too hard
Or I do crash.
And that’s not fun at all

Yesterday I, along with two other swim buddies, went off to see the
Pirates of Penzance at a new theatre that has opened not far from here
It was a small production. Only six people. But oh my it was wonderful
I really enjoyed it,full of laughs and and very topical
And at only $20.00 a ticket a very cheap day out.
I have posted a pic of the front of the theatre and a link to the web page, for those that live near me.
Check it out. Lots of great shows coming at reasonable prices
And as it’s really close and has heaps of free parking, there really isn’t an excuse to
Not go to live shows anymore.

So after my full on day yesterday. I’m a little tired and sore
But it was so worth it.
Now to get up and get going
There are fur babies to look after, grocery shopping to do, housework to attend to and later this afternoon a visit from my
Littlest most important person!
Yup melody lol
Enjoy your weekend everyone and
HAPPY SAINT PATRICKS DAY

See ya xxx

First of March

The first of March and it’s the first day of autumn here
The day was cooler than we have been having. But by the afternoon the sun did come out
The leaves haven’t started to turn yet
So I guess we still have some summer yet
But this is my favourite season
The days are frosty in the morning, sunny during the day and cool at night
I can’t believe the year is going so fast
Soon our new granddaughter will be here
Only a few months to go, and Melody will be a big sister
Time really does fly
It was only last week that her mother was a little girl.
The wheel continues to turn and I can watch myself againg in the mirror!
But really. Would we have it any other way
See ya xxx
