the girls had grandparents and special person day
last year it was one day and both sets of grandparents were there, we were allocated one child each so no granddaughter missed out
this year it was over two days
yesterday both grandmas attended it was melodys day we all helped colour in a book mark while chatting about school
unfortunately the other grandmother was unable to attend so it was just Brianna’s mummy and me today
here she is colouring in a picture of a book she had to decorate and add a title
she decided it was going to be all rainbows and hearts
we asked what she wanted to call it. she said family hub because rainbows and hearts mean love and that’s family
both her mummy and I were very emotional at that She really is the sweetest child
melodys bookmark was laminated and she was able to bring it home today
I think we did a great job. Family working together to make something beautiful and useful
Melody loves reading so the book mark will get lots of use
grandma is home now I’ve been out three days in a row and all that driving has inflamed my sciatica
i do have to do a small shop tomorrow but the supermarket is just one street over
i need to stay close to home
we are waiting on the news that the new baby is on her way. grandma has been trained on how to pick Ana up from daycare and they have been given all my information and a copy of my drivers license so they can ID me
I’m also listening for a midnight phone call
official due date is the 28th but as we all know babies arrive when they want
look out for the introductory post of our new granddaughter
We are getting very excited
ana loves being able to get here craft supplies on her own it’s kinda hard getting it from the cupboard so I decided she needed a box to keep it all in
I say all, but, there is a good supply of craft paraphernalia and as little children do is always pull out a brand new square of coloured paper to use
I’ve put in all the things that she has already use and will top up as needed
when my children were small we went camping quite regularly
when it was raining, or they said they were bored, I would pull out the craft box this kept them entertained for hours
meanwhile the supermarket, woollies, had another set of something useless to collect I don’t shop at woollies there are two coles stores nearer to me so I didn’t even start to collect them
when comes have their version of collectables I give them all to my Christmas fairy
she collects them all and sort them into groups she has three grandchildren living near her so had to hand three sets I only need one the two older girls share, thankfully
not having added to “ the stash “ I didn’t expect to receive a finished set
beautiful Diane asked if I would like one and made me a set she even bought the book to put them all in
the Girls will be thrilled
for those wondering what the rock paint we’re here is the box
you can see the they work on practically anything
they are now living in the craft box, along with the craft mat.
I’m sure Ana will be very excited to be able to just grab it and go
grandma bought some rock painting pens
we had so much fun as you can see i took precaustions and put a wipe down table cloth down
ana got quite a bit of paint in her hands
we had already washed them once
all the finished rocks. I had to paint some too
i did three Ana painted the rest
once dry i put them in an empty ice cream container so she could take them home
im sure her parents were delighted
We will see how we go
this morning is do laundry,
deep clean kitchen ( including oven )
and how to bring this collection into a patchwork
obviously i need more blocks
thats easy the hard part is getting them all to fit nicely
that takes mathermatics
and its not of my strong points
so
im sitting waiting fo washing machine to call me ill hang that up and put on the next load
then I’ll put an audio book and start
if you hear ranting and cussing that will
me!
im back and i can Post photos
the only thing is i have to pay a yearly fee of forty dollas
this is the way the world works now
now to just get used to the way this app works wish me luck
Last week Ana was playing with her aunts doll.
Yup this baby has been here for years!
Annie undressed it and wanted a nappy for her.
I think she originally did have some, but unfortunately they haven’t survived.
Today I made myself a pattern and using that, with scraps, have fashioned two diapers
One to wear and one to change
Once I had finished the two nappies, which took way longer than I thought. I needed to find a picture to use as my block to arrange all the smaller blocks of insects
I decided I needed a fairy toadstool home.
I’ve got a fairy stitch pattern and that gave me the idea.
I’ll use that one as well. But I needed something to pull it all together
I used to draw these for my daughter to colour in when she was little. We didn’t have money for colouring book. I drew lots of pictures for them to colour
Wonderson wanted trucks, cars, and tractors
But fairy stuff was baby girls favourites
Using my light box I’ve transferred the image into my fabric.
Once the outline is finished I’ll embellish with flowers and maybe an insect or two.
It’s large, about A4 size. A good block to build around.
This quilt is going to be tricky. Lots of measuring and making filler blocks.
A problem for later.
For now I’ll start on the fairy home and see what’s next
I hope my new little granddaughter will love it
No pictures as blogger is playing funny buggers. I hope to fix the issue soon
