For the last few days we have been getting severe weather warnings.
these screen shots are from the BOM (bureau of meteorology Australia)
earlier wind alerts called the winds “ cyclonic”
I don’t ever remember that word being used for our weather.
right now the sun is out and we have slightly strong winds. Nothing out of the ordinary. Last night we had lots of rain.
I woke up and there were puddles everywhere. It was even wet under our verandas, which means the wings were making the rain come in horizontally.
thunderstorms are predicted for this afternoon and evening.
I’ll prepare by having candles ready. All electronics charged and back up battery packs fully charged
I’m hoping that if I’m prepared it won’t happen.
if your in the warning zones pack everything outside, that can become airborne, away. Get organised and stay safe.
It’s been a bit breezy (slight understatement) over here today but it’s calmed down now 6.30 pm. Wondering if there’s more to come
ReplyDeleteIt got pretty windy in the afternoon. It’s all calm now
DeleteI swear you guys have been sending it our way. The winds from west have been so strong they were blowing trucks and caravans off the road a couple of days ago - broke power lines and caused fires that burned (destroyed) 7 buildings including 5 homes..
ReplyDeleteWow fires and wind do not mix at all. Hopefully it’s all calmer now and they fires are out.
DeleteI hope you didn't have any damage. The weather all over the world is changing.....we have barely had our heating on here in Southern Ontario, Canada, and that is unusual we should have it on at this time of year.
ReplyDeleteWe still have our fire going. It definitely should be out now and I should be complaining about the heat
DeleteThat sheep and lamb warning is pretty scary stuff. I see you're all prepared. Will your animals be under cover?
ReplyDeleteThey have shelter but they don’t use it. We don’t have any ewes now so there isn’t any lambs to worry about. Thankfully
