ANZAC DAY Lest we forget

For the fallen

With proud thanksgiving, a mother for her children, England mourns for her dead across the sea. Flesh of her flesh they were, spirit of her spirit, Fallen in the cause of the free.

Solemn the drums thrill; Death august and royal Sings sorrow up into immortal spheres,
There is music in the midst of desolation
And a glory that shines upon our tears.

They went with songs to the battle, they were young, Straight of limb, true of eye, steady and aglow.
They were staunch to the end against odds uncounted; They fell with their faces to the foe.

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old: Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.

They mingle not with their laughing comrades again; They sit no more at familiar tables of home;
They have no lot in our labour of the day-time;
They sleep beyond England's foam.

But where our desires are and our hopes profound,
Felt as a well-spring that is hidden from sight,
To the innermost heart of their own land they are known As the stars are known to the Night;

As the stars that shall be bright when we are dust, Moving in marches upon the heavenly plain;
As the stars that are starry in the time of our darkness, To the end, to the end, they remain.

Home grown goodness

The garden is still producing. But not the abundance of the summer. Which is fine. Still enough to feed two old fart's as ourselves.
We are between crops. It's been too hot to plant the winter stuff. But lots of greens for us and our chickens and some odds and ends of the summer produce.
Our chooks are busy laying lots of eggs. So I have to keep using them up. Not a problem for us really.
I used a dozen here
So chopped up what I gathered and cooked them until they softened. Placed them in the dish and
Added the beaten eggs, salt and pepper and some home grown oregano that I dehydrated myself
Popped it in the oven and it smelt yummy
Here is the finished product. Took no time really and a meal fit for a King. Well I think so anyway.
It was very delish indeed.
Enjoy your Sunday.

Day at grandmas

Today I'm at grandmas house while mum helps grandad with his computer issues and maybe go for a shop on her own.
Here I am watching a oriel bit of television with grandma. It's a show about living a self stainable life.
She says we will go outside when I'm older and play in the dirt together.
I think it sounds nice. But for now I've had my lunch and I'm having a sleep

Finished

This is my first C2C   Remember I had to undo it down to half because I had decreased wrong and it was out of shape. Well after I finished it I started another
This one. I've used up heaps of bits and bobs. And odds and ends and now I have two blankets to take back to knitting tomorrow for the charity box.
I think I'm going to make one for me now  what do you think. I really love the way they look and they're soooooo warm
The weather is getting cooler and yesterday I even had the wood fire going. So I'd definitely is crocheting kind of weather

Sheep day

Worming day for the sheep.
They are supposed to be selfshedding. But this one just doesn't. So we clean her up and gave her a little hair cut. We are not professional so it doesn't look good. But it's much better for her.
Never ending in farm life.

Still kicking along

Another week has gone. I just blinked and it did.
Today I'm concocting another meal. Using what I've got at home.
So yesterday I defrosted chicken mince and a tub of my home grown summer vegetables and added this pesto to it
I browned the mince and added the vegetables and sundried tomatoes pesto to it. Currently it's simmering away to let the flavours combine. Tonight I'll cook the pasta.
Hope it's nice. Smells good.
How about you? Anyone else like to just throw ingredients together and see what happens?

Update

Experiment a success. I added a small amount of tiny pasta andvremovedcall the bones. The chicken just falls off.
Tastes amazing. Now I've blogged the recipe I'll be able to recreate it.
I hope. Another huge load of wood added to our stock pile.
A great day

Experimenting

This morning we ar getting ready to go and collect more firewood.
So I've put dinner on in the slow cooker.
Sometimes I like to shake things up a bit and add different flavours and see what I get. That way I always get unique meals. The plus side. If no one likes its I never make it again. The down side if everyone likes it. I don't make it again lol as I can never remember what I added when i go to make it again lol
So in the slow cooker is two kilos chicken legs half a packet of frozen beans, one red capsicum
Creamy chicken and corn soup and the garlic oregano and lemon flavour mix.
Add a little water to get it all started and leave to cook on low for about eight hours.
I'll let you know how it goes. This is how I use up things in the pantry and odd bods of things in the fridge and freezer. I hardly ever throw food ou. What doesn't get eaten today will be eaten as leftovers tomorrow or I'll freeze it and use it another day when I cannot for whatever reason cook. Or just to have the day off lol
So off I go to get ready to be a lumber jack/Jill
Have a great day xxxx

Oops

I made a huge boo boo on my c2c. Apparently I double decreased.
So now I'm pulling it out. Only half way and redoing it.
This is to show you I'm not as clever as you all think. But I'm learning. So that's good. Hopefully I'll be able to show you it done properly soon
It's Friday. Have a good one y'all
