Holiday at grandma's day 3

Today I woke up at 4.30. I'm so excited. Mummy and daddy come home

Grandma and grandpa weren't really as excited and wanted me to sleep with them in their big bed. But I just chatted and chatted until we got up. 

Here I am sitting on uncle mathew. He makes a good horsey ride

 

 

And today I made a new friend. This is Aubrey. Aunty Nicole's sisters daughter. We had fun having lunch and playing

And we even shared our toys and didn't cry or fight. We were very good girls 

So tonight grandma and grandpa will take me home and I'll sleep in my bed 

I had fun on my holiday at their house. I know grandma and grandpa did too. 

They will miss me lots. But it's good. Because I visit them twice a week so we will have more fun and cuddles then

Busy day. Taking th baby for a walk

Going with him to get parts for work

Had to have a nap. It's so busy here 

 

And finally dinner with the family

Just another day and mum and dad will be home

Busting to tell you

I have been waiting for the project to finish. But I'm busting to tell you all 

Remember these?

 

Well they now look like this! 

Still a ways to go. But omg I'm so happy. 

Can't wait until it's done. We will give the area a good clean 

Put up the gate so the dog can't get in

Get some nice outdoor furniture light the fire and relax

Just like camping. Only with comfort and style lol

Yup couldn't hold onto the the secret any longer

A sweet hens

Here is the bride to be. She is marrying my nephew in three weeks

For her hens we all had a cup cake decorating lesson

 

My sister and her daughter. It's her son getting married 

 

And here are my cupcakes. I think it's fair to say I'm not going into business doing this  

I'm not very good but it was fun and tomorrow when the kids come over for Mother's Day I'm sure we will all get to laugh at them before we eat them all up

Camping food

 

I have four meals here ready to freeze 

Did a big cooking session yesterday and made chow mien for dinner. Made extra and have one bag of that 

I Aldi cooked up some more stuff pepper soup. And I now have three bags of that 

Four meals full of vegetables, rice and mince meat 

Hopefully they will be easy to defrost and heat up while away with little rubbish to deal with. 

Containers just take up so much room. I'm freezing these flat so the stack nicely in the freezer in the car

Fungi

Some of the amazing fungi Mother Nature had provided on the place 

 

Don't know if they're eatable but they sure do add a strange beauty to the paddocks 

This one looks like a trail of doggie do do lol

And this one looks just like it's from outer space  a mini rocket ready to take off

The weather has been lovely here. Cold in the morning and sunny all day 

Right now it's almost five in the  evening and I'm sitting outside listening to the birds settle for the night

Getting creative in the kitchen

Today I felt like Greek chicken soup. But I didn't want to spend lots of money and use up things in the pantry instead 

This is the traditional recipe

I bought some chicken mince and some turkey mince that was on special 

And combined them with a few eggs, chicken noodle soup mix and some rice

 

Then I made up some stock using stock powder I had in the pantry and when it was boiling I added the mince mixture 

Using two spoons and making little croquet shapes 

Had to do this bit slowly and let the water come back up to boil 

 

I also added more rice about a cup full and cooked it until the rice was done

Then I did the egg and lemon mix once it cooled 

I've just had some and it was soooo yummy!

Might keep that one in the rotation I think 

When the mince is on special I get some more and freeze it for when ever I feel like it 

Just a little different than using the chicken pieces

Learning as we go

Here is the first skirt I knitted for Melody 

I didn't have a pattern or any measurements  and as you can see the waist is wayyyy too small 

So I undid it, not an easy job until I was back to the skirt 

 

And this is the second version 

Looks much better. But again it's a little small. 

Might of fitted when she was about nine months old. But not now 

So I've taken measurements and I'm about to start again 

This will be put away for another little girl that night come along 

And hopefully third time lucky for one that will fit now 

I'm happy with the second skirt so I'll make it the same way. Just more stitches 

A pattern would of helped but I'm happy to learn that hard way 

It's kinda what I always do anyway lol
