Third times the charm

Well I hope it is anyway. 

For some idiotic reason, when separating 

The body and sleeves I looked at the directions 

And seeing CO I cast off the number so stitches. 

Completely forgetting that BO is casting off

And CO is casting on more stitches 

So I’m back to square one

I’m blaming all the stuff that’s going on right now

On my total screw up here. 

The only consolation is, I don’t kneed to start another project. 

This one is keeping me very busy! 

Honestly. I thought the cable would be the hardest bit. 

Please pray to the god of knitting and crochet to 

Help me   I really need it 

ANZAC DAY

Lest we forget

Today while bringing in the bins I saw this. 

That plant has been in the ground for about eight years and it’s never flowered 

I’m taking that as a good sign. All will be good and we will flourish 

I’ll post a pick when it’s fully open. 

This morning I meet the girls for a coffee and catch up. 

As usual, we went into the shop, best and less. 

We went in to find a cardigan for Diane. But we headed straight to the baby section. 

We always head to the children’s section as between Diane and I we have seven granddaughters plus now a half lol 

We saw one rack say $9. 

Our eyes lit up. We have missed shopping for baby clothes 

This is what we chose. Claire was with us and together picked the ones we liked. 

This little outfit wasn’t on special, but look how cute!

I had to get it. I had two enablers with me so they were no help at all 




Home now 

Shopping all put away. 

Today’s therapy session was very needed. It did help. 

Worrying news

The tests have come back on wondersons biopsy 

It’s cancer. A rare type that was actually growing on

The outside of his bowels. 

Thankfully he had that pain and they went searching. 

They wouldn’t of found it with just a colonoscopy 

This is from the the internet 

He is now waiting on another pet scan so see 

If there are anymore “hot spots”

And then they will decide on the next step to take 

I don’t have to tell you how worried and upset I am 

This isn’t supposed to happen to your children. It’s 

Supposed to happen to us. 

I just don’t know what I do or where I go now 

I just feel sick. 

TLC

Our back gardens are in desperate need of some attention. We just haven’t been able to spend time here. 

Today hubby decided to tackle the vegetable patch 

I helped little bit he did the bulk of it 

There is still this part to do, but we have run out of steam. We really feel our age, and health issues out here. 

So these days we do just what we can and stop 



In amongst the jungle of weeds and plants were some huge zucchini and cucumbers. We cut them up and fed them to the steer. He loves it. 

We even had a heap of leek that had gone to seed, and he just ate them all up. 

This is one reason we don’t mind letting it all go to pot at the end on the season 



We even found some produce for us!



The rest of the day will be resting. 

Hubby is very busy at the shed with wonderson still off recovering from his surgery 

I will drive to my mothers and spend some time with 

Her. Taking her to the cemetery and shopping 

So our busy lives will continue to be busy for a little while yet. 

Long weekend

It’s the long Easter weekend and I’m enjoying just taking things easy 

Yesterday I spent the day at my daughter’s home. 

Her brother and niece were there as well as her in laws. 

It’s always a lovely time. 

But hubby went to the farm to get the ground ready for the water tank to be installed 

When I’m on my own I don’t like to get home in the dark. So I left early 

Today I’m just staying home and keeping the homestead going 

All animals have been feed and watered 

I’ll have to go out later and feed them before putting them to bed 

Meanwhile I have a sad puppy who won’t let me out of her sight 

I think she’s missing her daddy. He will be home sometime tomorrow

Restart

I’ve started on the body once again 

It actually looks better now. Obviously I had picked up too few stitches 

Because before it kinda puffed out from the panel up 

I’ve been working on this while doing odds and ends   

My sciatica was really bad today. I’ve had to take extra pain medication 

Which I haven’t had to do for months! 

I’m just glad they have worked. 

I should be able to get going now. Finishing up chores 

Much quicker, leaving me more time to knit 

Wishing all those who celebrate a happy Easter. 

And for all those that celebrate the Jewish sabbath 

Blessed Passover to you. 

Let’s hope in this a sacred time for so many, they remember 

We are all one people and that it’s time to stop the fighting 

My Easter wish 

Still here

The last few weeks have been hectic. 

I’ve been going to my mums one day a week. We go  to the cemetery first then up to their local shopping centre. 

One week we had mani pedis. She has never had one before 

The next week we shopped had coffee and cake before taking her home. This week it was a visit to the optometrist and hearing check 

She’s 83, hears well and only needs reading glasses. 

Me I’m half deaf and totally blind without my glasses. 

I hardly went to my parents house when my father was alive. He was an angry and violent man our whole lives. I keep my distance for my own mental health. But I’m ok with mum 

Unfortunately that long drive is aggravating my sciatica. And I’m back to using my cane 

Ana is now four. We had her party on Saturday. 

There were lots of little people, so grandma left after after the cake cutting 

Remember Ana’s pride at finishing the puzzles. 

She had to walk on them once she was done 



Her cousins were here today to visit with grandma before the school holidays are over 



Well here is Brianna doing the same puzzles 

She had the exact same look of pride when she was finished and then started to walk on them 

I couldn’t believe my eyes. I had to tell her aunt and uncle. Honestly we need to keep these two apart. As a joined force they could easily take over the world lol 



I finally was able to give Brianna her cardigan. It fits with a little growing room 




Little miss sassy. I love how all three girls  are confident 



Meanwhile on the knitting front.  

I’ve only been able to work for short periods at a time. 

As I got further and further I realised that it wouldn’t fit me at all 



So today I ripped it all out. Back to where I had to pick up the stitches. 

When I measured the first bit. It fitted. Unfortunately my chest and abdomen are larger than my yoke area. 



I’ve picked up the larger size number of stitches. 

I’ve marked the sleeves and will start knitting again 

I really need to crack on as I have to start the blanket for the new baby coming. 

She’s half way done cooking 

So that brings you up to date 

Still haven’t had any news on the biopsy. I’m pushing all that out of my mind. I’m not going to give it energy 

End of the week

Today Ana was telling me all about her daddy and how he was sick at home. 

she did seem concerned about her dad. I told her he will get better with rest and she happy with that 

Then she bought out a box of puzzles. She’s very good at puzzles. Her mind is very quick. She reminds me of her aunt. When she was little she was just that too. 

You can see the concentration on her face she studies them all and then 




She starts to put it all together. 

Grandma was very impressed. I hardly help at all 




Even though her dad wasn’t at work, she did want to see grandpa. She then told him all about her daddy. 

In the way back Dobby came running because he wanted some food. 

Ana helped and gave him some  of the lucerne 

He is getting very friendly and always comes running when he sees us 




Mummy arrived to pick her up. And they went home to see how daddy was doing 

We had a very pleasant day. 

Home

Just got a message to say wonder son is home 

That is good news. 

I’ve been keeping busy. Doing odds and ends here in the nest 

I’ve also been working steadily on my jumper 

It’s now starting to look like a jumper/ sweater 

Now I just have to keep knitting until it’s the correct length. Then the sleeves. But I’m now in known territory 

I had to learn to knit short rows and learn what W&T meant. YouTube came to the rescue again 

I also had to learn how to do the ICord bind off. 



The same lady on YouTube also had a tutorial on that 

I’m now just going to sit, knit and watch telly until it’s time for bed. 

It won’t be very long until then 

Update

 Thank you for your good thoughts. 

He is doing very well getting over the surgery 

He is now even walking around the hospital. 

He might get home tomorrow or Friday depending on when they

Have given him any solid food 

I’ve spoken to him this morning and he’s very upbeat. Except for the lack of real food 

We really only now are waiting for the biopsy report 

Still very hopeful for a positive diagnosis. 

Finally some news

My son was taken to hospital a few weeks ago with severe stomach pains 

They did a scan and found a “mass” 

Yesterday he had a colonoscopy and gastroscopy 

They found the mass to be a tumour. 

They also found another spot with abnormal cell growth 

They have removed about half a foot of bowel

They checked everywhere and found nothing else. 

They suspect a carcinoma. 

They’re pretty confident that they have it all 

We now wait for the biopsy results 

If it’s a aggressive tumour he may have to have chemotherapy 

To just make sure. 

These few weeks have been very hard. 

Not knowing 

Worrying 

Just flat out stressed. 

I’m still hoping and praying that this is the last of it
