Computer class

On Fridays at the community centre we have a computer class. Shirley and I have been teaching whoever wants to learn how to Facebook, Pinterest,access their emails and all sorts of things.

In the top photo Shirley is showing Barb how to find knitting patterns and save them to a memory stick.

But mostly the ladies like to chat.

In the garden

Yesterday we weeded this garden bed. It was left fallow to rest but two cherry tomatoes self seeded. 

It was so hot that by the time we wedded and don mowed we didn't get the chance to put the new beds in till this morning. So now they are in place with lots of room for the mower to get around them. Now we will line the sides with black plastic and then fill with compost.

Don't they look bright and colourful.

A productive day

Having woken up in a start. I hit the floor running. I was a little late but got back on track.

Swimming,which I now do five mornings a week, shopping for food and then back home.

Towels done and hung out. Kitchen cleaned, dinner on the stove and lunch for the troups in the oven.

And now finally sitting with a coffee. Before lots of crafting this afternoon. 

And it's only ten in the morning! 

I hope I don't bomb out tonight but if I do its all good. Because there isn't anything else to do lol

How cool do they look. Now we I'll put black plastic on the inside walls to keep the soil in and protect the timber put them into place and fill with compost. Then we will plant them out

New vegetable garden beds

I saw on Facebook these crates being sold near us. They had spuds carried in them. I though wow easy veggie planters so off hubby went ang got four for me

He cleaned them up and we are painting them 

What do you think of the colours. Only have enough paint for two so I'll be off soon the get more. I may come back with the same two colours or two others. I have some ideas. You will have to wait and see lol

A harvest bounty

This is what hubby and I harvested today.  We have truly been blessed. For years I have done the growing and harvesting on my own but hubby has had to help me since I got sick. I think he is hooked. All that hard work is paying off lol

Audio books

I love listening to audio books. I listen as I crochet and usually when the pain is so bad I'm stuck in bed. Sometimes the pain is so bad I can't even knit or crochet and that's the day I really love audio books. I can lay there and listen and let the story take me away from my world and into another. At the moment I'm listening to journey to the centre of the earth. 

This is a free site so it costs nothing except it does use some data. But as I use my home wifi it doesn't add to my costs

So give it a go. There are a lot of classics on here and you can listen while you work on other things so you don't feel like you have had a non productive day

In the library

I know some people don't like technology. And I know a lot of people love to read books. Most of these people love to hold and have a physical book to read from. I used to be one of these people. But I gave kindle a go. I have the app on my iPad and I love it. I also have iBooks and audio books and I'm just as in love with them. Here are some of my recent purchases. I still love to have a book in my hand but when I was constantly going to hospital with Leanne. It was much easier to just have the iPad and everything I needed to keep me occupied those many hours was in one little place. 

Also been forgetful when I see a book I want, I can go instantly to Amazon and purchase it download it and be reading it moments later.

So if you have never read a book on a tablet. Give it a go. You might find you enjoy the experience. 

Next time I'll talk about audio books. I know some out there have discover them and love them.

Little things growing

Sure and steady it's getting bigger and bigger

I'm marking when I start a new ball of yarn so I know how many I use and if I decide to make a smaller version I'll know how many balls I'll need. 

It's getting easier and easier to know the next step in the pattern and by looking at the shawl I instantly know what I need to do next.

Hopefully soon I'll post a pic of the finished product. I might even model for you lol

Clean craft room

I work very hard all day and this is what my craft room looks like now. I forgot to take before shots but it wasn't like this lol

I even moved everything and vacuumed all the corners and got cobwebs and dusted skirting boards. 

So then I headed off and got the material for the boarders on the quilt I was working on the other day. I'm going to go into class and Estelle will help me.

Naughty girl/ lughnasadh

Today I went back to spotlight. You can make whatever assumptions you want with that information. Lol today I will be spending the day getting my craft room ready for winter and extreme creating! 

Today is the first of the harvest festivals in the Southern Hemisphere. 

Although I don't garden as much as I did in the past. We still harvested plums and peppers and we are waiting for the many green tomatoes to ripen  we also have some corn that is almost ready to eat.

All in all we are very blessed and I have sent my gratitude out to the universe.
