tradition

For quite a few years I had seen on

A sailing boat all lit up for Christmas.
Apparently it’s tradition amongst the island Greeks to do this.

Since half my family comes from a Greek island I had always wanted to do the same. Unfortunately there are not many sailboats for sale in the shops.

I looked and couldn’t find anything. Then I’d forget all about it until the next time L posted the picture

This year I jumped onto Temu and found one I liked and which didn’t cost the same as a real sail boat

I spent about 15 minutes gluing the lights on
I hope it passes muster

Better Late than never I say.

Thank you L for the inspiration

  1. That's really unusual and so pretty. I once went to a night-time parade of canal boats, which were all lit up with lanterns and fairy lights. Of course the lights were reflected in the water too. It was unforgettable.

    1. Fantastic!! Lighted boats are in high fashion here this season. There are 5 of them in different places in the main town. One of them is a kaiki, fishing boat, tied up to the wharf.
      Kalo Christouyenna!!
Love the lighthouse too. Now I have to find one of those

    2. I’m sure you’ll be able to find one somewhere on the island.
Merry Christmas to all your family
