yesterday while putting the cabs of dog food away in their cupboard, my back made a horrible sound.
I was stuck in that half bent half standing place
I did get all the cans put away, although the last lot kinda just got thrown in, and slowly straightened up.
I was in lots of pain.
I was trying to get as much done as possible in the morning in case we got the call to pick up Georgia.
As you know that call came. This was why grandpa was here helping.
I did put the slow cooker on in the morning, I cooked mild curry sausages with veggies that were frozen during the summer
I did have a big pumpkin, the only one we got from the vine, that got cut up. Some went into the slow cooker
The rest into the refrigerator.
Today I used some to make pumpkin soup

I also added the last of the carrots, for sweetness and some potatoes

I also defrosted some of the stock I made from our home raised chickens the we dispatched.
The end result was a very yummy soup.
I blitzed and added some cream at the end
I’ve had some for lunch, hubby took end leftover sausages where he and wonderson finished it off for their lunches
I put some soup into containers and gave some to wonderson to take home. Daughter in law can have some for her lunch tomorrow and Ana loves pumpkin soup. She’s told me many times
When I washed the inner ceramic pot
Of the slow cooker I found a big crack
It doesn’t seem to go right through but I don’t want to chance it. Next time I use it the heat might crack it wide open
So I’ve ordered a new one on Amazon
I still have my big family size one, but it really is too big for just two.
Today the pain has still been bad enough that I’m using my walking stick
I’ve taken all the meds plus a few others hoping I get some sleep tonight and I’m able to function better tomorrow
Either way grandpa will be here to give me a hand.
Wish me luck. I’m going to need it
Beautiful blog

ReplyDeleteThank goodness for Grandad! You still manage quite a lot though even when in pain. Hope you manage to sleep.
ReplyDeleteYou're lucky you can get a replacement for that slow cooker pot. They are so handy especially when you're making your homegrown soups!
