A restful weekend

The boys were all away for Harley's bucks weekend so bella and I had no one to bother us all weekend. I didn't all my washing on the Friday afternoon and spent the weekend just crafting and relaxing. Sunday morning I enjoyed my coffee in bed and was working on my charity knitting. I've been a bit slack and haven't made much for charity lately
So here is bella checking to make sure I have the correct number of rows done but that got really boring so she turned around and had a sleep. She was still on the job. Making sure I didn't get any knots in my yarn.
She really is a good girl lol
Hope you all have a greqt weekend
See ya xx

Crocodile booties

I made these today
I don't think I like them in veregated. Too busy looking
But I do like the blue
Close up of the crocodile scales
So easy and they don't take long.
The blue will go to our new baby. The purple and pink will get put taken to knitting to be sent in the package for the hospital.
I might have to make me some more. I think.

Ta da!

Finished two. One for the new baby and alone to put away for when anoth comes along
I have found some really cute booties I want to try so bad. And as luck would have it I found a tutorial on YouTube. So I'll be tackling that next. I show you as soon as I get around to doing them.
Yesterday I was supposed to go into the airport with leanne and drop off her mother in law. But plans changed. I drove into the airport and home again. On my own! Never done that before. Right out of my comfort zone.
Meanwhile leanne was taken to hospital by ambulance. More pain.
Will know more today
Have a good one y'all

Something for me

Want do you think?  Looks good in white. It's so soft. It will keep me warm when I'm in London in November.
Half way through only two balls of yarn and it's finished.
Watching the game of thrones while I knit. It's full of violence and sex but omg I love it lol
What are you up too today?

Why

People have asked me why I blog. I tell them I blog for myself. In the past I used it as a kind of personal journal that I could go back and see what I did at the same time last year. It was  great when I was earthmama. It helped plan when I plant, where I planted and what I planted. It also marked the milestones during the years.
But then it got to be more. One day I will leave this mortal coil, as we all must, and this will be left as a legacy for my children and grandchildren.
Who know. Right now they don't really want to know about all the things I do and have done to help
make ends meet. But one day they might. I may or may not be here to share what I have learnt. I may be here. It unable to share for whatever reason they new can go back to earthmama and see for themselves what I did, what worked and the mistakes I made

But now it goes even further. This jacket that I finished not ten minutes ago. It's being made for my nieces first child. She is the first born off my brother. He and his fiancĂ© have both left us now and will never hold their fire grandchild.
But I'm here and I knit for this baby, and blog about it.
Who knows one day that child my find his way to this post and see how I knitted for him
He will learn about me and what kind of person I am. He will learn that I did not live In a palatial home, I didn't use the finest yarns and that I wasn't in the best of healt.
But I want him to know that in every stitch there is love, and as I knitted I thought of his grandparents and how much they would of loved him. And I'm sad that they will never hold him or know him
But I want him to know that before he even got here he was loved.
So this is why I blog. So that when I'm gone, I'll still be here.
See ya

Another surprise jacket

My brother, who passed almost 17 years ago, is going to be a grandfather In December. His daughter, my niece, is having her first and it's a boy!
So I decided to make a baby surprise jacket. As it's been a while since I made one I purchased an instructional DVD. It's like having a teacher in the room so here hare some progress shots
Starting to look alike a jacket here cute little sleves
Here it's looking more like a jacket
And here is Bella and her quality control. Seriously cannot do anything here without her checking up on you. Hopefully I'll finish this in the next few days.
I've also started an infinity scarf like the one I made for my sister in law and her daughter. So we can all have one each, but in different colours, when we go on our girl only trip to Europe later in the year.
Photos of that to come
So you see I've been very busy
