Catching up

The last few weeks have been about getting to medical appointments
Dental
Restocking my medication
And keeping up with preventative tests

I still have a few blood tests to do and then I’m done.
For a few months anyway

In the meantime. I’ve started a new project.
One that, for the time being, is portable   So I can take it away with me
And work on it while having conversations

I’ve got them in plastic bags, I’ll reuse these for craft work, so very economical.
This way they stay organised and clean

It was a cold, foggy start this morning. The sun is shining now. But still very cool
The Matilda’s. Our female soccer team, won another game and are now in the semi finals

If they end up wining I think the whole of Australian will explode
You will hear us all over the world.
But for now. We are so very proud of our ladies.

What are you working one craft wise?

Getting it done

I finished my tunic. It fits and is perfect for keeping my back warm but not overheating me

I might make a couple more.

I’ve cut the batting and backing fabric to size   All three parts are in here ready to take to the quilt shop

I made a new wreath for my front door.
We still had the autumnal one I made before I left for my trip.

I think it looks very spring like   Hope the weather gods get the hint

Hubby used his new toy to bring over a bale of straw so we could clean out the chicken coop and put fresh flooring for them

Here it is all nice and clean. Neither hubby note I are as fit and healthy as we once were. But little by little we got it done

He’s just giving the girls fresh water and going to lock them in
Well that’s what I told him to do. But once he starts he keeps going until dark.

And some farm animal spam
The sheep eating their hay

The chickens never far away. Always wanting to be where the action is

The alpaca’s. keeping an eye on proceedings

And more chook pictures
The handsome Pendles. He like to pose

Another weekend done and dusted.
We may not be as productive as we once were. But we still get things done. Eventually

Life

Life has been plodding along here.
The blissful mundane of just getting on and doing what needs to get done.

We are planning a camping trip next week and I really needed a low side table that I can access easier from my camp chair
I looked on line and researched all the different types and found these.
I really liked these.

I wanted to see them in person. And I needed a new camp Chair while at it. So hubby and I trotted off to the camping stores
I didn’t find a table anything like these, these I had found on Amazon for $70

I did buy a new camp chair. It’s a double so I can sit on it and have trixies bed next to me. So we can sit together like we do at home

This isn’t it. It’s a picture from the net. But it’s very similar

Anyway I decided to just order it from Amazon.
When I got back on the site. They had been reduced by 50%
So I bought two. Why not

So now hubby can have one too!

Ana arrived for her Friday with grandma and grandpa.
She loves grandpa because he plays the rough games. Like her climbing on the chair and jumping into
His arms. They do this for ages. But grandma goes for walks around the garden with her.

She knows to go straight to the strawberries and found lots of green ones. She was very excited
But I told her we needed to wait until they were red. So off we went to see what else was ready to eat.

The sugar snap peas!  She’s not a big fan of peas. But she watched while I ate one.
Since everything else from the garden was good. She tried it
I gave her two, one in each hand, and we came inside

She finished those and asked for more. So I ran outside and picked a bunch

She finished them all!
I was very pleased indeed. Another win for the organic garden

She is growing so fast and has a wonderful little personality
Here she is with my stick.

I took a screen shot from a video I sent her mummy
She has my stick and she’s saying it’s her stick
I’m saying it’s grandmas stick I need it to walk
She was adamant. No. It’s Ana’s stick lol

No art again this week. Out teacher now has the dreaded flu.
Everyone is quick to say it’s not covid. We do test still
But she feels terrible. And like me doesn’t want to spread it around.

So I will go off and get some errands done
And then came back to finish off my crochet granny stitch vest
I’ll need it to keep my back warm camping next week.
Enjoy your weekend whatever you do.

It’s a start

The quit top is fine
I used 12 tea towels and used up fabric from my crap bag for the borders

I’ll definitely get it professionally quilted. It’s just too big for me to do it

I still have oh so many tea towels.
At least for a couple more blankets

This one is 77.5 inches/ 197 cm
By.              87 inches/ 220 cm

A decent size

Celebrating

Across the road the sheep have started lambing
The days are getting noticeably longer.
And the wheel has turned.
Blessed Imbolc to all in the Southern Hemisphere
Happy Lammas in the northern hemisphere

Getting excited for spring and the new adventures we will begin soon

Busy big weekend

Our weekend as always starts on Friday when grandpa finishes work early
To come and play with Ana. These two just have so much fun. Grandpa is more into rough and tumble games
Here ana is climbing on the chair and then jumping into his arms. They were both laughing
And you can see how much they love each other in Ana’s face. Grandpa definitely is the favourite when it comes to games.

Her daddy then picked her up earlier than usual as we had a night out planned
Before I had left for my trip I bought tickets to see a band that plays Queen music.
The lead singer looks, acts and sounds just like Freddy. They were brilliant. And we enjoyed it immensely

The crowd was made up of mostly people of a certain age but there were also quite a few pop the younger
Crowd. Everyone was singing along and having a lovely time.

On Saturday we were invited to our friends for dinner.
Since covid we have been less social. It’s just hard to get back into it

We hadn’t seen this couple since we went camping all those months ago. So it was lovely to catch up
We even took Trixie with us. She and Boston had fun playing Chasey all over the couches  until Boston had had enough and
Growled at Trixie. Luckily she took the hint and just jumped up next to her dad and went to sleep

And now Sunday it’s our actual wedding anniversary
35 years. Seriously where did that time go

Right now we are just enjoying our morning coffee
Hubby is watching the formula one, while I’m on the iPad
Probably not what you would class as a particularity romantic start to the day
But it’s a comfortable relaxing morning for us.
We might go out and do something or we might just stay home and potter.
This is what being together for so long is.

Just going with the flow, enjoying the simple things, and just being happy in our own little world.

I hope your all happy and content in yours

Cool starts

It doesn’t show on the pic but the grass is very frosty
There’s a mist and a cool chill in the air.

No I didn’t swim. I wasn’t leaving a warm house to go out in that!

Definitely a stay inside and do indoor things kinda  day.

These old, damaged bones. Do not like Melbourne winters any more
