Cooking frenzy

Over the weekend we harvested from our garden. It's starting to wind down for the summer, hasn't been a real success but it's been hot and dry and I haven't had the energy to look after it properly as I normally do.
Luckily for me my sister in laws mum gave me some of her harvest.
So today I am busy cooking up!
In the first photo is one of our onions, it's about the average for this years crop. That's a roll on deodorant bottle next to it!
I have egg and bacon pie in the oven using our home grown eggs, and the last of the beet root. I think I'll make some garlic mashed potato to serve with it!
And some ratatouille cooking on the stove. Well eat some today and I'll freeze the rest for later.
So all in all not a bad harvest
See ya

  1. That onion would make one great "bloomin' onion"! Or onion rings! This all is making me hungry!
(I don't need any help, ahem...)

  2. Hi Angela, I've been having a catch up with some of my favourite blogs. I'm sorry to see your life has been restricted due to chronic illness and as you know I know only too well how this can take over your life. Lately I've been suffering a great deal with my arthritis on top of my worries with Petals cancer, it's become a huge struggle. I'm sending you a big hug and my thoughts are with you always. Just take one day at a time for now. Hugs Sue

  3. Hi honey! We (greek girls)do have a special oomph! Nice Valentine's? I do n't think so. My husband was sick, and i spend the day(and not just that one) taking care of him and disinfecting the house. And now i am sick! And today that i am sick is the first day the weather is not horrible. The sun is shining and the birds are chirping and i just want to whine!
    Sorry for the vent!
Have a wonderful week full of love and light!

  4. By the way, baked ratatouille is one of my favorite dishes(especially with crumbled feta cheese on top. I love a pot rtatatouille too(with some mushroom soup powder in).
Those dishes simple as they may be have a lot of work. The washing and skinning(of the potatoes and carots) and then the chopping take a lot of time.
