Back to regular work

I continue to pack Christmas away the last will be the trees, which I’ll do on the 6th

The tools of the trade what you can’t see here is the huge roll of bubble wrap

Letting the chickens out in morning hubby found a very subdued rooster. On examination we found he had a full crop, I think that’s it’s called,  he had eaten too much and it packed hard

Slowly and carefully hubby pulled out what he could and then adding little bits of water and massaging his neck we cleared it

This morning he is back to himself. Thankfully

We had picked plums from our trees. I didn’t get a before shot but hubby estimated we had at least eight kilos.

We cut up and de stoned them all. I now have half a dozen bags of frozen plums to used during winter.
Lots of comfort puddings

I also made some jam

Five full jars and one half that’s in the fridge for use now

Once again we have lots of zucchini.
I grated some for mustard zucchini relish

Ingredients collected while the  zucchini was draining.
It was salted well to help the process

Jars are being boiled to make sure the seal

So a productive start to the year. And one very good save.
I wouldn’t like to lose Pendles the rooster. His named after my favourite footballer and if he had died it would be a bad omen for this years season lol
Honestly we would miss him
