Today I’ve attempted to put the other storage shelves together.
I was doing really well until I came to the single vertical sticks. I just didn’t have the strength to screw them on
I’m almost positive that’s where they go. I’m now just leaving it for when hubby gets home
I then took out my cable knit. I found videos on what the special stitches were and how to do them
The lady didn’t use any extra needles she just shuffled all the stitches around.
I tried that and it looked like a hot mess
I pull it all out and used the blue stitch holder to keep the spare stitches on until I need to knit them

The main reason I think I just couldn’t get it to look correctly was the whole hold them back and hold them forward you have to do.

I don’t think I was doing it correctly. Now I’m using the stitch holder as a cable needle it’s starting to look like a pattern
Using the stitch holder is making it all much simpler
Who knows I might even get a jumper made in the end
I’ll keep plugging away and we will see
I’ll keep you posted
Good on you for sorting that out. I can knit a simple cable but have made many messes getting right that hold them back and hold them forward.
ReplyDeleteIt was very confusing as she didn’t use the cable needle to hold the stitch. So you had to remember where every stitch was. Using the stitch holder to hold the stitches is so much easier
DeleteYou're such a good knitter!
ReplyDeleteNot really. But I keep trying to learn something new with every new project
DeleteThat's the kind of complicated cable I leave to others! Yours looks very good.
ReplyDeleteIt’s not just the cable knit. Once that’s done I have to pick up stitches to knit the jumper around that band. I’ll post about the pattern
