A first

I just made my very first two tone square
I need 22 half cream half colour squares
And eight squares of two different colours

I think I’ll be busy with these for a while
Lockdown was extended for another seven days so we won’t be released until next Thursday
And it’s not looking for for then if the numbers keep going up

There is no use crying over spilt milk
It only upsets you and it won’t make a lick of difference

So I’ll keep crocheting and keeping busy
Hope your all well and happy

Stay safe

A quickie

This morning I was making squares for my newest blanket
It’s going to be a long term project and I usually like to do something quick in between
Just to mix it up a bit

This project popped up on one of my Facebook pages and I thought ohhh love it
So I followed the you tube and used some of the left over yarn from Anastasias dress

The hardest thing was the tassel
I’ve never made one before but even that was easy

What do you think?
Thicker yarn will make it a bit more sturdy
But I like it
I can put it in my car or somewhere so ana can see it when I have her

Today hubby and I went and got our second AstraZeneca shot
I’m please to announce we haven’t grown an extra head and so far we don’t have an uncontrollable urge
To eat brains lol

We are now officially fully vaxxed
Until we need the booster I guess
Hopefully as more people get to this point we might be able to get to some sort of normalcy again

Meanwhile
We wait and craft lol
Stay safe
See ya xx

Coping

Another week has begun
They seem to be flying by.
I went out to do a shop this morning and it was nice to just get out of the house

After finishing the dress I wanted a project that would interest me but not tax me too much

This is the start.
I found a pic online and thought it didn’t look too hard so I’m trying to replicate it

It’s a patchwork heart made up of crochet squares

Hopefully I can make my version of this heart
I’ve never made the two tone granny square so I’ve found a you tube showing you how
I’ll watch that when I make the first one
Right now I’m just making the solid cream squares

It’s grey outside but not raining which is great
Hopefully it stays away and give the ground some time to dry out

Stay safe everyone
See ya

Teddy

Today is Teddys 10th birthday
He has been a joy to us
He and Trixie are best friends
Even when Trixie tries to drag him away by the tail
He’s so placid he just go’s with the flow

He is gentle with the girls and love to cuddle him

We will give him something special for his dinner tonight

Stay safe
See ya

Knitting for Anastasia

Before Ana was born her mummy and I went shopping and found some beautiful soft coloured yarn
As soon as I saw it I knew exactly what I wanted to make with it

I had printed a free pattern for a dress years ago, and although I loved it
I hadn’t made one as it seemed way above my skill set

But having found the perfect yarn, and wanting to make something special for the newest
Granddaughter I decided I’d give it a go.

I was hoping I’d be able to get some help from the ladies at knitting but alas because of lockdowns I was left to my own devices

Then half way through I had the jumpers Lyn wanted me to finish so the dress was put aside so I could work on those

I finally got it back out just over a week ago and worked periodically on it
I was up to the bottom of the skirt and i needed total silence to work on it
I knit saying watch stitch as I do it because I need to really concentrate lol

Today I finished it and I’m so glad I decided to make it a bigger size
It will probably fit Ana when she’s around one
I hope her mama likes it

It’s not perfect. There are mistakes that I have corrected throughout and some I haven’t
But overall I’m proud of myself
I pushed myself way out of my comfort zone

If I ever make another one it’s going to be way into the future
But I don’t see it happening to be honest, I like to craft and listen to my audiobooks or watch a movie and
You cannot do this pattern while doing any of that

Hopefully your all well
Stay safe
See ya

Groundhog Day

Well we weren’t quite out of lockdown, we could go shopping and out to pubs and things
But we couldn’t visit family at home

It was looking good for a total return to normal but
We have had cases of the delta variant so we are back into lockdown
Again
Luckily I had a feeling so I went out today
Got my nails done
Did some grocery shopping
And some fun shopping
I’m one hour the lockdown goes into effect

I have been reading about the fires in Greece
It’s heartbreaking as we in Australia fires well unfortunately
I have family in Athens so it’s very concerning
If your impacted know we are all keeping you in our prayers
There isn’t much else we can do unfortunately
Stay safe all
Hopefully the world will settle and we might get back to a normal life

See ya

Productive weekend

During the week, I ventured to koo wee rup to the quilting shop and bought my backing fabric so I could
Finish my little quilts for charity

I also needed a hanger for this wall hanging

I bought the fabric and I also bought a new tracing pen that disappears after a few days
For those quick stitching projects

I knew there were two things I needed to buy so with my two purchases I headed home
Only to remember I had forgotten the hanger

So the next day I had to go into cranbourne so I stopped into spotlight

I found some Harry Potter fabric. Oh my

I made these two as a dry run and they will go into the gift basket for Christmas gifts
But the other four panels I will make for me

I even got matching towels.  One for each house.
How cool is that lol

Then today I finally got the lemoncello out to finish off
Because the grappa wasn’t a strong batch I let it stew for longer and I only added two cups of water so as to not
Water it down too much

Along with two cups of sugar it became

This.  The colour isn’t as strong as I would of liked it
But both hubby and son have tried it and passed it with a big thumbs up

And today our couch finally arrived.
All the lockdowns had it being delayed

Being an ikea product it came in lots of boxes and it had to be all assembled

But we got there, without too many raised voices
And now I can relax

And keep working on this little blanket
All blankets, both crochet and quilt, are pram size
Perfect for keeping baby warm while out and about

I hope someone will enjoy them

For some reason I can’t access my list of blogs I follow
So I’m only visiting those I can remember the web address of

Hopefully the bug will be fixed soon
If you leave me a comment I can follow that link to you blog

Stay safe and well
See ya xx
