Roses

Life has just been plodding along lately. Slowly getting things done. Testing when I need. And gardening, crafting and catching up on TV shows.

Stitches and craft show

Well once again another show was disappointing these looked great but were $25.00 a pack of six. Makes for expensive decorations. I'm sure if I just got the felt it wouldn't be as expensive. They are nice though 

There were a few people but not as many as I though. But it was day one. 

I got these buttons for $4.00 each packet. They are very cute. Can you tell a baby girl is coming into the family lol 

These were only $2.50 a pack. So I'm right for buttons for a while now. 

As for the rest it's all the same old thing but the prices were astronomical. 

Seriously people just can't afford those prices and lots of people were leaving with not having spent a thing. And as its $17.00 just to get in. I think we will be missing the next few years. 

If I need anything I'm just going to go to my quilt shop for my supplies and good old spotlight for yarn 

But it was a nice day out. Now I'm pooped

Insomnia

Well really it's only 2.42am. But I have been up since midnight. Cannot sleep. Pain levels are high. Had a big day of walking and talking and visiting. 

So now paying for it 

And you know it compounds because later I will be so tired I'll have to fight falling asleep on the couch. 

So how do you cope with not sleeping? 

It's just something I now live with. 

I've moved out of bed so I don't disturb hubby with my tossing and turning. And will attempt to sleep on the couch now. Plus his snoring is really loud! 

Oh well. I'll give it another try. 

Sleep well. I know I hope too xx

Getting things done

Purchased the screens for our outdoor area. Will post pics when they have been installed. I think they will look great 

Got new line and restrung our clothesline. It was really bad with multiple knots where it had broken lol can't rush these things 

Netted the berry boxes. That will fix those pesky birds hubby is securing them down as I type.  

None of these jobs took long and in between we shopped and relaxed and get went at a nice pace  for those of us getting older lol 

It was a good day

Berry delight

All my berry bushes are having babies. 

This blueberry is loaded. 

The strawberries are full of blossoms 

Can't remember what this is but it's got babies too lol 

The raspberry has some as well. 

Very excited I am. Will shortly be netting them. Don't want the birds to eat them

Urban sprawl

This is walking distance from my house. It's huge paddocks that are now going to become a new community. It's really rather sad. I love the rural feel of our area. But soon there will be hundreds of new homes and so many people living here. 

Maybe it's time we moved on further out. 

I know people have to live somewhere but all around us farms are being subdivided for homes. 

I wonder where they think their food is going to come from. 

It's a worry

Rascally rabbits

Yesterday we got int a discussion about rabbits on Facebook. I posted that while innocently enjoying my morning cuppa sitting outside a rabbit just bounced right past me. Didn't really care I was there at all. 

Then everyone commented on how they have rabbits and they a re digging in their yards. 

Well here are some of the rabbit holes in my front yard

I've been putting cat poop in the holes to try and get them to move on. But I don't think it's working 

They are in plague proportions this year and I'm not sure why. It's been a cold winter but not very wet. 

Maybe that's it. It's been to cold to go outside so they stayed inside and you know. Did what rabbits do lol 

Can you see the amount of dirt they have moved? We are going to have to do something to fix this. Taking the garbage out is dangerous. I'm going to break an ankle I'm sure of it. 

It's not good for the stock either. If they stand in a hole they will break a leg. 

How are the rabbits in your part of the world, or what ever is the main pest there?

A whole new world

Wearing my new glasses and it's amazing how much I couldn't see. 

We are collecting wood to get it ready for next winter. And in the short time we have been here I saw a lizard scuttle under the timber and a huge huntsman spider crawling on the log hubby was chainsawing. I can see way into the distance and it's so very very clear 

It's like a whole new world.
