I’ve been on camping sites lots lately 

Dreaming of the day we finally pick up our new van and go away 

We do a bit of free camping out in the wilderness and getting a decent cup of coffee is hard work 

I don’t do instant. So bitter especially now I don’t take any sugar 

I love my coffee pod machine but if you don’t have power it’s a no go. And it’s way too 

Big anyway 

I do have a Italian coffee percolator but if all you have is a fire. That’s no good 

So when I saw many saying this little gadget was great, and one came up at Aldi for 

$50 I grabbed it. 

Firstly it isn’t compatible with their pods. But it is compatible with the Nespresso 

That’s not a problem as there is usually a coles around and easily obtainable 

This morning I gave it a go 

Makes nice coffee. But if your like me and want a decent cup to get you moving your going to need a few pods!

For roughing it. I’d say it’s ok

I do have coffee in bags, like tea bags and they are just as good 

So. I say save the money and just buy the coffee bags

But if you like gadgets, like my hubby,  then at least you will have fun pumping

A glitch

There definitely has been a glitch in the matrix as the weather here has definitely 

Not been very summer like 

The last few days have been rain, rain, and more rain 

Don’t get me wrong. I like the rain saves me having to go 

Out and water, but seriously I’d love some sun now and again 

Considering we are in mid summer! 

I’m sure soon enough it will start to get hot, very hot, 

And then I’ll complain about the heat 

But at least that would be normal and understandable 

As it really is the middle of summer! 

Oh well 

It’s nice to be able to sit and listen to the rain I guess

Still stitching

Today I wanted to use up even more of my bits and bobs 

So onto you tube I ventured 

Wasn’t long till I found something to interest me 

Baby booties. 

Not knitted 

Not crochet 

But sewn 

I think they’re cute. All they need is some press studs where I have the pins holding them together

I’ve been doing that all lockdown lol 

They are not hard. Just a bit fiddly as they are for little people

Sewing

When my kids were small I made them their pjs and tracksuit pants for home and camping 

I have been trying to use up my stash so I decided to you tube simple dress patterns 

So I made the girls a new dress each

They’re very simple 

I don’t have the girls measurements so I kinda just guessed 

As well as worked within the confines of what I had 

I’ve sent pics to my daughter and she likes them 

I’ll see how they fit and I might make some more

Grandma is now pooped 

So a nice cuppa and a sit I think

My girls

Today I spent some time with my girls at the pool 

We had fun splashing around 

Practicing swimming 

And just enjoying ourselves 

It was fantastic just seeing them 

We appreciate it even more after all the lockdowns last year 

Going out 

Enjoying life

Wordless Wednesday, friendship

Abundance

We have had rain for quite a few days so it’s been ages since I got out into the garden 

To check on its progress 

Bad move. Very bad move 

We had so many yellow squash and zucchini 

And they were ginormous! 

This is what I kept. But I cut up the rest and fed it to our cow 

He was very happy to receive it. 

Loves fresh veggies 

We pulled out one of the zucchini plants and I found som radishes  had sewn 

They were too big to eat 

So they were added to the veggie breakfast 

He looked up long enough for me to take the picture and then his nose was firmly back 

Into his breakfast 

It doesn’t really worry us having vegetables getting too big for us to eat 

As long as they get used by someone 

In days gone by I would purposely leave them to grow so I could feed the chickens 

We have started the process to have chickens again 

So I’ll be able to entertain you all with chicken posts again 

It’s going to be warm today 

So I’ll finish off outside and then I’ll go inside to rest and relax in the cool

Keeping busy

It’s eight days into the new year and it’s a busy one already 

Hubby is supposed to be on holidays but he has been going over to the workshop everyday 

And doing a few hours of paper work or finishing off big jobs 

We had to get a new ducted heating and cooling system 

The old one was faithful for 21 years but was making the death rattle 

That went in on the 6th 

Swimming is back to normal and so are my Ouchie massages and my body is 

Really feeling the benefits 

I’ve been playing in my craft room and made lots of things to be put away for gifts 

I’ve got Easter pretty much sorted and now working on Christmas 

I’ve made these Santa bottle covers today 

I think they’re really cute and will add a personal touch to a bottle of 

What ever you are gifting 

I’m going to make a few more. If I don’t use them on bottles I’ll 

Just hang them somewhere as decorations 

So the year so far is progressing nicely 

We have had a few covid cases but nothing really worrying. 

We all jumped on it and it looks like a spread has been avoided
