Done and dusted

And just like that 

Christmas is done 

Mid summer garden

Although mid summer has come and gone. The weather just wasn’t playing the game. It starting to finally warm up now and the garden is reflecting that. 

Everything is lush and green. It’s been a bonus that I have hardly had to water 



We have been harvesting zucchini. Beans. Zucchini. Button squash. Zucchini. Silver beets. Zucchini. Beetroot 

And cucumbers. 

Did I mention the zucchini lol 




There lots of baby green tomatoes. 

I planted small varieties so they should start to ripen now and the fruit flies don’t bother them 




Won’t be long until we can harvest the corn 

And we are getting lots of yummy strawberries 



The flowers and herbs are attracting lots of bees and other beneficial insects into my garden. Which had kept the bad bugs under control 



Ive come inside now as it’s starting to get rather warm out there 

Everything has had a good drink so it should be ok for a while. 

They’re predicting rain. But lately it’s been missing us. 

We will just have to wait and see 

Busy Friday

It was Ana day today. Yesterday we had a power failure that kept the power off from midday till one in the morning. So while I had natural light i stripped one tree of its ornaments 

today Ana helped to take off the ornaments from the second tree. 

They still have their lights. They will be packed away tomorrow. I hope 

Hubby packed all the tubs back into the garden shed so the only ones to put away now are the tree things. They’ll go into the wardrobe in my room and the spare room 

I also had two friends drop in which was lovely 

Our lovely neighbour dropped off a big bag of butter beans. So they have now been processed along with green beans from our garden, zucchini and butter squash. I packed them into bags and they’re now in the freezer for winter use 

Once again I forgot to take pictures. But you all know what frozen vegetables look like 

I’ve cooked some potatoes and some of the butter beans which I’ll make into a salad for dinner 

I’ve clean all the toys away 

And I’m now resting. 

Once it cools I’ll water all the pots under the front porch 

I think I’ll sleep well tonight 

The week continues

Started the day with a  catch up with the maestros for morning tea. 

It was nice to to sit and chat. The fruit cake was pretty good too 

Yesterday I finished the big blanket. FINALLY 

It’s huge and it will definitely keep anyone using it very very warm 

Once I had finished I started a new project. A new hexi cardigan for me. 

I don’t know if I have enough of the yarn to finish it. So I’ve ordered more on line 

It’s from hobbii in Denmark. I love it. It’s so soft

I’m going to have a rest day today. 

I’ll keep working on the cardigan until I run out of yarn

And then I might start something else while waiting for the order to arrive 

It’s cooler today and less humid. 

Which is just lovely I say 

The 3rd of January

More Christmas has gone. 

There are only the two trees and the wreath on the door 

The place is looking empty now. 

The tubs are heavy so hubby will have to move them. 

Oh yeah. Today I turn 57 

But we won’t talk about that

Second day 2024

New year was a quiet affair 

A friend who now lives in another state is visiting family and came to spend new years with us. 

We are all in bed by 10.30 lol 

After she had left on New Year’s Day I took down the garland from around the craft room door 

This morning hubby and our son are riding their motorbikes to the farm. So I get stuck in and put away a heap of Christmas decorations

The table has been returned to it’s normal state 



I’ve not put the full tubs away. As they’re now heavy. So I’ll wait till the boys come back. 

I’m now a tad sore. Don’t tell hubby. I’ll get into trouble for not waiting on him to help. 

I’ve taken one of my precious codine tablets that I got while I was in the uk. 

I’ll rest now. Maybe I’ll watch a movie.
