I’m still here

Hi all 

I know I’ve been missing in action. But it’s been kinda busy around here. Well for me

Anyway   One of my swim friends was diagnosed I with pancreatic cancer and she went down hill fast 

She had just started knitting her granddaughters some jumpers but only got half way through one 

Before she was unable to continue 

So she asked me to do it for her. 

Now I can knit. But I’m no knitter. So I enlisted the help of a knitting buddy 

And together we finished off the three jumpers 

I was able to deliver them to my friend in palliative care and she gave them to her granddaughters just before she passed 

I wa so happy I finished them before she died. I have to say a big thankyou to knitting buddy Barbra if it wasn’t for 

Her assistance id probably be still going. 

So after finally being able to say goodby to my swim friend Lyn 

The funeral was postponed due to lockdown, I kind felt flat and just didn’t do much at all 

I did make some crochet blankets that my sister asked for 

But I’ll show you those in another post 

I got pretty sick just after finishing the jumpers, I think it was the relief of getting them done 

So I did lots of resting 

I started to feel  better yesterday, lockdown was over and we were able to go swimming again on Monday 

A few weeks ago we had wild weather, trees came down everywhere and we lost power 

Two trees out front were damaged so they had to come down 

This one I use to hang my hose on so I didn’t want the stump removed 

But it was kinda ugly so yesterday I added some brackets and baskets 

To it to pretty it up a tad 

What do you think? 

I’m sure it will look better once the plants grow a bit. 

I still need something for the very top. I’m thinking a metal animal or bird 

I’m sure I’ll find something in my travels 

So that’s it. 

It’s been an emotional few months 

But we are getting through it

Frosty morning

Woke up this morning to fog and frost 

The pics don’t actually show how white the grass is but you can kinda see it on 

Th top of my car

Trixie and I are inside 

Under a blanket

With the fire roaring 

I think we will stay out for the next hour or so lol

Birthday party

During the week Brianna turned the big number three

So she had a party yesterday complete with cake balloons and a huge jumping castle 

There were oh so many little people and they all had a ball

Her unicorn birthday cake. It was rainbow inside and a big hit 

So another birthday had passed and we were so very blessed to be able to be with them all this year. 

COVID has really taught us what’s important in life

Easter

It was a lovely relaxed day where we all ate way too much

Resting

The weather had changed dramatically over night 

Making me hurt more, but I’ve been feeling it coming so I’ve not been sleeping 

Well at all. 

So I’ve had sleep ins the last few days and not got to the pool to swim 

For the same reason I have been just going slow and spreading my daily chores and resting frequently 

I Had some scraps from a few bags I made the girls so I decided 

To try and make the booties pattern bigger 

I’ve made these for them. 

They might be a tad big  but I guess they will grow into them 

I will purchase some of that puffy pain and paint some spots underneath to stop them slipping 

It’s Friday and I’m very ready for the weekend 

A cold blast is predicted and we might even get snow on the mountains 

So I’ll be spending the next few days inside 

And probably with the fire going 

Winter is on its way

Long weekend

Easter long weekend was lovely, sunny and very warm 

We decided to spend some time in the garden. 

We weeded and added organic blood and bone 

Some lime to sweeten the soil

Mulch 

And planted more seedlings 

We still have chillies producing and eggplants have flowers so I’m hoping we will get a few before 

The weather turns really cold 

My Camilla's are flowering 

And promise to make a stunning boarder in a few years 

Today I got out my quilts, the ones I still have.

And decided to display them on my old clothes horse 

I would love to get one of those old fashioned ones

But for now this will do 

There is even room for a couple more! 

Our newest granddaughter is due one week from today 

So we are all just waiting now for her to make her appearance 

Life is just moving along

Greek Easter is in four weeks 

So we will do the egg thing again then
