Weekend at grandmas

We had a mani pedi
Although only melody wanted her digits painted

Melody Asked to learn some craft. She tried crochet first but it was a tad fiddly so we switched to knitting she’s doing really well and is currently still knitting away next to me

Meanwhile Brianna was outside helping grandpa organise and cook a BBQ dinner

While grandma watered the pots and veggies. The girls okayed on the swing and slide

Then some chalk art. Trixie approved

They will sleep over tonight and their parents will pick them up sometime tomorrow afternoon.
Who knows what we will get up to by then.

    1. Being older I don’t have them as often so it’s nice to spend time with them

  2. Fun fun fun at Grandma's house. I taught my grandkids to knit but none of them are interested now. Crocheting seemed far more difficult for them. Maybe when they get older. When they're not on their phones lol

    1. They Will come back to it I’d say. It’s in their brains now so they will pick it up again easily when they want

  3. Very cool to teach her to knit st s young age. She's got the advantage of seeing you at work, too. You learn a lot by observing, even when you don't realize it.

    1. Usually I’m crocheting. And she wanted to learn that. But it was just too fiddly holding all the bits. So I decided knitting might be easier. She’s picked it up quickly

  4. Isn't it great sharing skills and activities with the grandchildren. The learning seems to skip generations - my grandmothers taught me, I'm teaching Mr Bs grandkids. As a parent you don't seem to have time and its nice to not have all the other responsibilities and time to enjoy the creative activities.

    1. This is exactly it. I didn’t have time to do any crafting I did make clothes because at the time it was cheaper. But once all the “made in China” stuff started to come in. It actually became more expensive to make it. So I even stopped doing that.
