Sowing

I got my winter crop seeds out and decided what I was going to sow

There’s cauliflower, broccoli, kale, radicchio, leeks and a few others I didn’t get to do as I ran out of room in my little hot house

I had to get a bag of seed raising mix. So I walked over to next door.
Have I mentioned how handy that is?

I’ve sown extra seeds in each area so I can share any excess
They will hopefully be ready to transfer into the garden beds in 12 weeks

I’ve left the mini greenhouse open as it’s lovely and sunny outside. I’ll close it up before dark

I’ve been a bit of a hermit lately as my glasses are really not working anymore. I’m getting headaches and my eyes ache by mid afternoon.
So I’m a tad anxious about driving.
I did have an optometrist appointment two weeks ago and new glasses have been ordered.  Hopefully they’ll come in soon and I’ll be able to see again.
My eyes have deteriorated quite a bit in the last two years
Just hope they don’t continue at this rate or I’ll end up blind

Wish me luck with the next harvest

  1. I envy you the seed planting and the little protected house for it. Not so much the deteriorating eyesight though. Let's hope the new rx helps.

    1. I hope so. I don’t know what I’d do if I lost my sight

    1. It must be so exciting after not being able to do much outside. We are lucky we can garden and grow food all year round

  4. Eye sight does that doesn't it -seems to slide dramatically in a short time then settle for a while and then another slide. Aging we guess - like the lady said: old age is no place for wimps

    1. Nope. No it isn’t
And it’s not just the eyes. The list is long and painful 😣

  5. As they say, aging isn't for cowards. I'm partially blind in my L eye due to a macular hole repair. Not fun.
You live next to a nursery? How wonderful is that!

    1. You just don’t appreciate seeing until you can’t I guess. Yes the nice young man who bought the project next door has a nursery and does a lot of his growing out
At home. So he’s set up a small outlet in his big back shed. So very handy for me

    1. Oh yes. Saves a trip into town. And usually I get a tour of all the latest stock that has arrived. Very tempting
