We slept. For ten hours We woke early as we fell asleep at four in the afternoon. We just couldn’t stay awake any longer.
We felt much better this morning even though we did wake up at stupid o’clock
After breakfast we decided to go for a walk.
We walked over the tower bridge. Half way I took a pic of the shard. It’s the tallest building in the uk and seventh tallest building in Europe
Lots of people were running, walking or bike riding across the bridge. What a great view to have while keeping fit
Different prospective of the bridge you can see it was an overcast day
Across the river is the Tower of London
The sun decided to come out for a little while
After having a coffee we came back home for a rest.
We did go out for lunch but it got cold and it’s now looking like more rain
Our tour starts on Sunday so we are taking these days slowly so we can be totally fit for that. These days were designed for recovery after such a long flight
So much fun exploring the city.
A great, quick and dry way to explore London is to get a ticket on one of those "hop on, hop off" buses. That's what we did when time was limited.
ReplyDeleteWe got a card for that and it’s valid for three days. We plan to use it after the tour.
DeleteIt sounds as if you've planned this well. By Sunday you'll be ready for anything!
ReplyDeleteOh yes. You need some recovery time. Australia is so far away we just know we are always exhausted after the trip
DeleteSo exciting! Oh to be in London, whatever the weather.
ReplyDeleteWelcome to Blighty. If you go over Tower Bridge at the top level there is part with a glass floor so you can look down on the river - slightly freaky the first time you step on it. Enjoy your tour.
ReplyDeleteYour close to Borough Marjets for lots of yummy food options too.
ReplyDeleteWe will be going there as part of our tour. I love food lol
DeleteSounds like you're having a wonderful time.
ReplyDeleteHoping you catch up on sleep soon! Have a fun visit!
ReplyDeletehugs
