Paying the piper

After the crash in the pool yesterday my back and hips were really hurting me.
Chasing chickens, as funny as that looked, also didn’t help.

Last night pain levels were really high. The back spasms so bad it actually gave me stomach cramps.

So I didn’t swim and I’ve been moving very gingerly

This morning all chicks were present and accounted for.
They are now in a Fortress. Nothing can get in or out!

I gave them some grass I pulled out and they attacked it with vigour

Meanwhile in the egg camp all were out waiting for breakfast. We have let them out to graze for a while and I’ll go lock them back up later.

So today will definitely be a take it easy kind of day.hopefully the spasms will settle and I’ll be back to full speed tomorrow

I know accidents happen. But seriously don’t swim under people. You don’t know the damage you can do

  1. Yes, that kid was very thoughtless and cavalier about injuring you. I hope your back and hips settle down soon.

    1. I’m feeling better. Just by resting. Thank you

  2. If you see that person again, perhaps say all this and impress on him that he did damage. I've never heard of anyone doing this. I bet he drives the same way, whipping around people, changing lanes. I'm really angry on your behalf.

    1. No use being angry. Won’t help. I might say something to the lifeguard that saw what happened and she can put in a report and maybe a text or email can be sent out telling everyone to please take extra care around others as some of us have unseen issues. I just don’t think he even realised that. The young just don’t understand because they’re healthy

    2. Righteous anger has its place! You seem to have roused my inner Tiger mom, heh.

  3. I seem to have missed a couple of days of your blog, either that or the spider incident has blocked out what I read? So I have re read your last couple of days and discovered you have had some adventures and your body has suffered because of them. Take it easy and hopefully you'll feel better in a day or two.

  4. Does your swim centre have a hot/warm pool where you could just relax your body. It might help if you put in an incident report - they probably will say it should have been made at the time or you swim at your own risk - but do et them know. How old do you think this person was?

    1. It does but it’s too hot for me. I’ve got my bag packed and hope to get back in the water tomorrow. The incident was witnessed by one of the lifeguards so I’ll have a chat with her

  5. Sorry to know the crash reverberated into the next day. My Mums partner used to go to the pool everyday for health reasons (copd) and their local pool actually had some allocated lanes for 'people who progress carefully' (shall we say). The youthful, the speedy ones and those with less to worry about got different times and restrictions on the extent of their range. I don't use our local as lane swimming now has to be booked and costs £11 per half hour, and the rest of the time its a free for all.

    1. We were in the recreational area. But he wanted to get from the lanes to the ladder to get out. We were obviously a tad slow for him
